Damn, I never bought the Ewoks TV movies on DVD and how somehow it's become a hot commodity. Netflix doesn't even have it for rent!
![]() Also, is it just me or does Lawrence Kasdan sound like he is sloshed all the time? Last edited by beckmen; 09-22-2011 at 09:21 AM. |

So, coming to his senses he throws down his weapon in defiance over the 'lure' of the dark side. That's why he tells the emperor that he had failed and lost and he will not be able to turn Luke. It mirrors when Yoda told him in ESB, that he would not need his weapon when he ventured into the cave representing the dark side. Then, he took his weapon with him, used it and lost figurativly speaking by killing himself. |

Of course, you may call me nitpicky all you want, but sadly that doesn't change anything about how all these changes hurt my enjoyment of the movies and about my right to complain about it. ![]() On the contrary. We see the ceiling of the hallway, which is much lower, and we see the curvature of the hall wall, which describes a much smaller circle than the huge door covers. |

I'm also getting audio drop-outs on Episode IV as well. Damn it. From what I understand if you let the player decode it, it's not an issue, but if I let my S360 decode the audio, it doesn't play lossless, but instead plays the DTS core. On TrueHD, it will play the TrueHD track, but that's not the case with DTS-HD MA. Ugh. I did let the player decode and play the core DTS track and didn't hear any dropouts. Is it possible it's just a bad batch of discs? Probably not, so an exchange would be a waste.
Maybe it's just time for a new player that properly decodes DTS-HD MA...anyone have problems with the Sony S380? Last edited by Kryptonic; 09-22-2011 at 12:09 PM. |

ANyway, popped in Jar-Jar Menace real quick to see what I was in for, since that one was regarded as the stinker of the bunch video-wise. Didn't see any major complaints, though I'm sure extreme videophiles will notice smoothed out details, but it's the best it's ever looked to my eyes, so I'm pleased. |

Lapti Nek sounded exactly like the kind of 'bad taste' live music that Jabba and his scum would listen to. Jedi Rocks is so out of place in those surroundings and with that audience. I also hate watching some of Jabbas evil-looking henchmen banging on drums and what have you during that act.
A couple of other things - most of Oolas dance act has disappered with Jedi Rocks and the cool backdrop with an illuminated frozen Solo behind the lead singer is also almost gone now. Besides, the CGI sticks out like a sore thumb. I don't get the fuzz about the door to Jabbas palace. No one said that the entrance is designed to form a half-circle in full view. It could be trapez shaped with slighty inwards inclining sides. We never see the top of it. |

Funny how that quickly changes the second that it is (A) a PT movie that is effected and (B) a change that YOU don't like. Now, I agree that the DNR does seem a bit excessive. I didn't find it to be too bad, but at the same time I only have a 37" 720 HDTV (I do want to upgrade at some point, but unfortunately it won't be any time in the immediate future). So, perhaps I would find it far worse if I had a bigger set. I certainly wouldn't mind a less DNRed release, and even though I'm not kicking and screaming over the DNR, I would still support a petition for it. But you guys need to consider this. While this may have been something of a rushed job for all that we know, this isn't exactly quite the same thing as say the color timing problems from the 2004 OT set, which effected all movies in that set roughly equally. He specifically only applied DNR to this extent on TPM and ONLY on TPM. I presume that he probably viewed it and approved of it, and may well be happy with the way this looks. In other words, it may well be and probably is an ARTISTIC DECISION on this part. Now, while I have no problem protesting against his various supposed and actual artistic decisions, you guys are the ones who have been standing up for his artistic rights the whole time to no end. Now suddenly when it effects something that you don't like, the tide quickly turns. You are free to continue your crusade to petition against it. I'll even join said crusade. But you cannot do so without admitting that by doing this, you guys are being absolute 100% hypocrites in the process. Quote:

![]() You are breaking my heart!!! ![]() No, in all seriousness! You would support one, wouldn't you? I know it can look a whole lot better than it does, and it deserves it! Quote:

I can't imagine anyone being able to endure this DNR mess in 3-D. Well, come Feb, we will know for sure. ![]() ![]() Quote:

Why would I not want the UOT to be released as well? It's just that some of these very vocal UOT "fanboys" try their best to spoil all the fun that is SW. I don't like some changes GL has made, and as I have mentioned on NUMEROUS occasions: He hasn't gone nearly far enough for my taste! Upgrade all the VFX throughout the Saga. All digital Yoda in all the episodes, CG Jabba in ROTJ, new updated VFX for the groundbattle......,but I still love the movies, and those minor things are just nitpicks. If I were GL, I would have made done ultimate editions, with PQ/AQ that would have blown away everyone completely, and you would have to start searching for your jaw in China....., but that's not the case, and my life isn't ruined if things aren't the way I want them to be. I can live with TPM on BD as it is now, but I would definitely like to see a better version of it soon, and it has been possible in the past.... First time I watched TPM and AOTC, I thought they blend really well, so I understand where he was coming from with this, but I'd rather have some grain and detail in most shots, and not some. It's a 3-3,5 for me PQ wise, but it could be a 5, and I love SW, so that's why. Glad to have your support too. ![]() Oh, and thanks, for not wanting me back. I appreciate your honesty. ![]() ![]() |
