Is that really necessary? It's obvious Thor sold all those copies because consumers can't get enough of Natalie Portman.....oh wait.

You can't see the entire door in that picture? Cuz I can.

I mean unless the door is for some reason 10 times larger than the mouth of the cave.

Considering the fact Thor at three full extra days to pull sales, I am not so sure having 61% of it call's for a celebration...make's you wonder what would have happen to Thor if Star Wars was release on the same day

Not really a "Ha Ha" moment, considering the Star Wars set was almost 4x as expensive. Of course it wasn't going to sell as much.

And not to mention as others have said, had 3 days on the Star Wars set. And is also ignoring that the OT set was 5th and the PT set 15th.

The question that you should ask yourself is: what does the rest of the door cover when there is only a small hallway behind it?

What does it matter what the door covers? Jabba is a gangster, they like to flash and have things that look big

I can't believe that some of you are defending the fact that the door is 1/5th the size from the inside! That is absolutely F(&(*ing stupid! If you are going to change it Georgie boy, fine. Change it everywhere!

I can't believe people are getting upset about a door!! When I watch a movie, I'm examining the realism of the architecture, I'm paying attention to the characters, maybe you guys should try that.

You are missing the big picture, so to speak. We are not discussing the door per se but the fact that an unnecessary change decades later introduced a totally avoidable and very obvious continuity problem that wasn't there to begin with. It's about filmmaking, not architecture.

I find it funny though. Star Wars had how many months of hype and preorders in comparison to Thor's two months? Wasn't this thing on top of the preorders list for the better part of the year? Don't all those preorders count towards the day 1/first week sales? Weren't fans claiming this to be the biggest blu ray release of all time? Then along came the God of Thunder... LOL, awesome.

However, is it an epic fail? No, of course not. Star Wars did fine for something that has been released one time way too many in the past. Not to mention the entire series was overplayed to death on tv this past summer.

Besides Portman was waaaay hotter in Thor.

Point. Still. Stands.

Max Rebo, Sy Snootles, whoever else contributed to Jedi Rocks, should be in the rancor pit right now being sexually assaulted by several rancors.

I'm not sure if preorders count in the first week sales or not - that's a sticky situation.

wait, new release a quarter of the price beats a catalog collection set with two sub-sets also newly on sale? no wai! We know if it was a new release of a single new release SW movie, Thor would have looked more as prissy and weak as raped childhood whining.

The new Jabba door bugs me a little, but only because we can see the same (but smaller like the original) door in The Clone Wars CGI movie... Now, being bigger from the outside, it's like Jabba invested to renovate his HQ...! Anyway...!

Yup.

When Jabba decided he was .. err.. going to have a taste of her, she decided she'd rather give the Rancor that chance rather than getting intimate with the Space Slug.

Now about the sales, people in love with Star Wars are obviously touchy about it, but let's face it. Compared to expectations, aka Star Wars Complete Collection should have obliterated the charts, it's a big disappointment.

Can't help but feel that a -lot- of people were disappointed with the changes and won't buy it now, while a whole host of others (like me) went from excited to "well, it'll be a good Xmas/ Black Friday buy".

P.S: Any way you put it, the Obi Wan scream, R2 rocks, Jabba door and Vader "noo!" are moronic changes. They just won't be game breaking enough for me not to buy it, but I'm clearly not as enthusiastic as I once was about this release.
