I'm browsing a few scenes from TPM right now, and my God, the light sabers just sound so dangerous and scary. It's almost too over the top, but instead, it's just awesome. It almost sounds like a huge electrical explosion sometimes.

Over the weekend I watched The Phantom Meanace and I decided to use the 2d to 3d setting on my TV and it looked really good. I calbrated my TV a couple months ago so that may have helped but I went through the whole movie with no problem with eyestrain. The battle at the end was really cool with a lot of depth.

That sounds awesome! I wish I had a 3D TV.

Is that the same frame? Her image shifts in front of background. Looks like 3d going back and forth between the photos.

Here's a question for you, PT fanboys... If Star Wars was always meant to be a six-film saga, then why did Lucas go to the trouble to trademark the phrase "Star Wars Trilogy" back in 1988, 5 years after ROTJ's release?

As seen at the end of the 1990 CBS/FOX Collector's Preview: Source @ YouTube

Maybe because it was a "Trilogy" for over 15 years?

What would you have called the original 3 movies between '83 and '98?

the "Star Wars Half-Saga"

I'm not a PT fanboy but I presume he did that for selling the trilogy.

Not sure what its supposed to prove ir disprove other than marketing purposes.

stop selling the OT short.
The IMDB lists are just a collective opinion. And terrible movies like Godfather are high up on the list. So it doesn't mean much.

It's not about what I would call it, it's what Lucasfilm officially named and trademarked the three films (SW, TESB, and ROTJ) as a whole...

If those three films weren't capable of standing alone, why would Lucasfilm trademark a name that gave the impression of completion and finality? The answer is because it was already completed. The prequels are essentially the equivalent of trying to create a mansion by welding a double-wide trailer onto a townhouse.

Says the troll with the most-reviled character of cinema's last 20 years as his avatar. More people honestly believe the Earth is flat than believe that The Godfather is a "terrible movie" or that Jar-Jar was a good idea.

The godfather is a universally well-respected work of art. Not just on imdb.

And? It was sold as a Trilogy back then because the other films hadn't been made yet.

So of course you trademark stuff like that, since that was the title it was sold under.

Not really rocket science to figure these things out. Just like all the Star Wars titles and character names are trademarked.

Yep. And that's still nothing more than some people's opinion.

So it's a placeholder name...

And the three films are capable of standing alone, as are the prequels.

Each trilogy has a definite beginning, middle and end.

You might want to actually pay attention to the movie next time. It's Obi-Wan who's annoyed by Jar Jar.

It was Qui-Gon who instantly (and quite correctly) sized up Jar-Jar with this quote:
