Here's one of my favorite Jar Jar exchanges...

Jar Jar Binks: "Meesa called Jar Jar Binks."
Padme Amidala: "You're a Gungan, aren't you?"

Yeah, same thing with Avatar. Great special effects, but dull story.

Not one of those has a practical application in real life, nor have I ever heard anyone besides you quote any of those.

It's not like Yoda-isms or "May The Force be with you" or "I have a bad feeling about this" that people actually say in real life, and everyone understands.

A quotable line means that most people know movie, character and scene when you quote it. Whis the Jat Jar lines that is certainly the case!

I'm not sure I would have recognized any of those before last Thursday, when I endured TPM. If you had come up to me on the street and quoted that stuff to me, I would have had you lie down and I'd have called 911.

I watched The Return of the.... King last night and guess who pops up? One of Darth Maul's cousins, turns out he's a biter! Good movie though but could have done with more lightsabers....

Of course, you should at least have seen the movie if you're to recognize these lines... If You'd never seen "The Big Lebowski" you wouldn't recognize "You're entering a world of pain." or "The chinaman is not the issue." - that doesn't make them less quotable. It just means that "you are out of your element, Donnie!"

That's pushing it a bit, when you take in consideration Solo's amazing patience with annoying characters (shall I say 3PO ) I doubt jar jar would have survive three years in the same cell as Han

Solo's reaction to meeting 3PO for the first time in 'A New Hope' is still one of my favorite Solo moments.

Quotable and actually quoted lines by an iconic character! After seeing Episode 1 in cinemas multiple times back in '99 we quoted lines from the movie back and forth... There you go, big daddy boss Nass, your honor!

My eyes are bleeding and my brain hurts now. Thanks a lot. There aren't enough facepalms in the entire universe to express how poorly those "lines" come across.

About 80% of the children's cartoons my daughters still watch have better dialog than that. Hell, the original Loony Tunes is more maturely written and infinitely more quotable than that.

I feel like I'm talking to a tree sometimes. Like, just because you can identify a movie by a quote doesn't make it a "quotable" you know?

"I'm a person and my name is Anakin!" is one such occurrence.

It's not like, I dunno "Say hello to my little friend", "Don't ever ask me about my affairs", "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist", "Do you feel lucky, punk?" etc etc etc. that I would recognize instantly even if I haven't seen it in 10 years.

Without the silly MEESA YOUSA diction, I wouldn't recognize a single one of Jar Jar's quotes.

I still can't believe that George typed that up along with much more in the first place thinking that it was pure gold.
