Actually, no such thing is ever said, and certainly not in front of Anakin. The most that is said of him is that he is "too old." Nothing about being a "dangerous" person, or "reckless" and nothing that could be considered "verbal abuse".

I greatly prefer the OT but I enjoy the PT for what it is.
"Finally, a voice of reason!"

This whole Us vs. Them thing in this thread is getting old. I have issues with a lot of the posters and a lot of their posts, but I don't accuse them of fabricating their opinions to be "cool" or any such nonsense. Nor do I feel the need to obsessively refute the opinions of others by saying the same thing over and over ad infinitum, as if repetition will somehow make it more valid.

There's a real sense of certain people being the "PT police" and making sure their (same) opinion is heard each and every time a poster makes a statement contrary to their opinion. It's getting really tired.

What else would Beast and Shaft Windu do with their lives if this thread was closed? It's like a virtual IV drip keeping various members alive

Oh, and I watched the new Transformers last night and thought to myself how much better the prequels would have been if Bay had done them. Just a thought...

If there were a chance to make prequels worse, Bay would have seized it mightily.

Not sure. I'm not his biggest fan but Transformers 1 and 2, even for what they are, are infinitely better than any of the prequels purely as films or a pieces of escapist entertainment. And after all they're just overblown kids films about Robots and Humans fighting each other...er, hang on....

The Transformers films make the Star Wars prequels look like cinematic masterpieces by comparison.

I agree 110%. The first Transformers movie was okay, the second one was just trash. I didn't even bother seeing the 3rd one.

As much as I criticize the Star Wars prequels, I will take them any day over the TF movies. Anyone who actually thinks that Michael Bay directing an SW movie would be a good thing need to get their head examined.

I never was a big Transformers (I was already in my 20's by the time the big craze started) so I usually wait for them to be on the movie channel to see them. The first one was ok, nothing to incredible for me...second one really had some stupid moments in it even if the action was ok. The trouble is that it's hard to really see the robots go at it and fight sometimes, just look like a bunch of stuff moving around I will see number three probably next May or June once its on the movie channel.

You should rewatch what they say to him. telling him the way he feels will lead to the dark side! What does a 9 year old know about the dark side!

Then they say that he will not be trained at first in front of him, and saying that his future is clouded! The kid must be thinking why did I leave home! Anakin then hears Obi was tell Qui gun that they all sense he is dangerous. He even tells Qui Gun that he doesn't want to be a problem, way to much emotional stress for a 9 year old. Heck think about the way Mace treated Anakin in all 3 movies. Paps IMO had nothing to do with Anakin turning to the dark side, the Jedi did it themselves.

IMO the features were good but dont have much replay value
I agree. Bonus discs are really just a novelty. Would I have liked to have seen other features on there? I.E. all the deleted scenes from PT and Empire of Dreams, sure. But would I have honestly watched them over and over again? No. Once is enough. I got the Complete Saga for about 60 bucks, so I'll take the 4 beer coasters and watch the 5 good movies.

Palpatine mentions them in the Opera-scene and strongly insinuates that he manipulated the midichlorians to create Anakin. Just like Qui Gon suggested that Anakin might have been conceived by the midichlorians.
Wasn't it Plageuis that created Anakin through the use of midichlorians? I'm pretty sure thats why Sidious betrayed him in his sleep because he knew he was going to get replaced in the future with Anakin, and ultimatly decided to make Anakin his apprentice instead.

but I'm going to assume we are talking about a difference of no more than $10... there's no way I would pass up on the bonus discs because of $10

If it were any more than $20, then I would get the trilogies.
For me it would be around $20-$22 more and the bonus discs would be just drink coasters so I think I will go with the two trilogy sets.

Either the Making of.... or the Art of.... book expands on the idea that Palpatine created Anakin. But you're right in the EU it says that Plagueis influenced the midichlorians (each time I type that it sounds more and more like a pool cleaner....) to create Anakin, whether Palpatine took over the plan after his masters death I don't know. The EU expands on the idea that Palpatine couldn't duplicate his former masters powers of cheating death (Plagueis wasn't exactly brilliant at it either if he was bumped off) thus his need of clones.

Checked out more great extras on AOTC last night.

I really love all the stuff about Coruscant -- I'm so intrigued by the "city-planet" concept and love checking out the details of the various places on the planet.

Sort of bummed there isn't a Kamino sub-section, though.

I would recommend buying the complete 9-disc boxset. While I agree that the extras are not the best in the galaxy :P they are better and more entertaining if you like Star Wars (they are still in now way as good as the Ep. 1-3 DVDs).
