So price wise what r we looking at?

I mean, LOTR was only 3 films and not even the extended versions at that and most retailers sold it at $60-$65.

So double the number of films in the box set and be prepared to double the price. Ugh. $120-$130! Jeez. The MSRP will probally be $199.99.

I'll be happy just getting it, I'll be happier if it costs under $150.00. Honestly it they want $199.99 I'd pay it, but I am counting on Amazon to be lower than that.

In the big picture, just offer them, cost is not an issue for these.

There is a magic number for everything. 6 disc = $98.99 street price. 6 disc + 1-2 bd extra $119.98 street price.

I bet it'll be box set only to cash in on the holiday season next year, then they'll break them up in 2012. I'm expecting a 7 disc set. 6 for the movies and maybe a bonus disc.

For a minute I read the thread as OCT 2010....

I really hope its not just one set with all six movies. Sure the fans will gobble it up but a too high a price may turn off the majority of owners, at least myself included. I love SW but I won't pay anything like $150-200. But I will buy each one around $30 individually or two sets at $70 or 80.

I imagine first it will come out as a 6 film set, then two 3 film sets and then the individual special edition releases.

I suspect this will be a 8-10 blu ray set and will probably have a $179.99 msrp. I'm sure on release day since this will be the biggest release ever there
will be lots of competition.

$119-$129 sounds about what we'll probably end up paying for it. But like
flipper said even if it's $199.99 I'm there day1.

Old news, but good anyway, although I'd definitely prefer a October 2010 by a long shot!!

I'd sell my kidney, my gf, my mother or whatever else necessary to get this Box set!

They will be the most watch bunch BDs in my collection ever!

Thumbs down box set?, no thank you!

I just want to see original three movies IV,V and VI, without special edition sh#t. If it is not possible to see ORIGINAL movies in high def, I DEFENITELY DON´T purchase IV, V and VI ever on blu-ray. So, Lucas gets 150 euros less money for pension days!!
Box set is excellent idea to rob money from younger generation, who doesn´t regonize quality difference between fist three and last three movies!!
The idea of re-editing and partly re-making original Star Wars trilogy for special edition was TERRIBLE MISTAKE. Maybe one of biggest mistakes in movie history. Thank god, Spielberg released (with good transfer) original version of E.T. on dvd, not only "re-made horror edition". So, I think Steven is nicer guy than George... Hopefully we´ll see ORIGINAL version of E.T. on blu-ray soon too!!
There´s no any point to fix over 20 years old movie. Just make good transfer AND EVERYONE IS HAPPY!!
This is good subject for a poll: Who really want´s Special Editions on blu-ray? Except George...
I think it really makes sense not to like Special Editions, because those movies are NOT piece of movie history, only pieces of it!

As much as I didn't care for the 3 newer Star Wars I would still buy this set day 1! Hopefully it comes out sooner but I can wait until next October if needed.
