I just don't see the point. No, it doesn't "bother me", but I'm still curious why it's receiving this kind of treatment.
Well said. Not trolling or being unduly negative, just curiosity.

Agreed. It's here, and we all got it. The event is over, and if the thread has any real value/participation left, it will stay at the top of page one whether it's a "sticky" or not. If it doesn't, it will drift away.

I was just wondering why it was still "stickied" myself.

im kinda thinking on how Alec Guinness is doing the best act of Obi Wan in episode IV when he quotes " I dont seem to recall ever owning a droid " lol when he even have good relationship with r2-d2 in clone wars even in ROTS. His facial expression just matches the whole story wise, where he is like hiding it from Luke owning a droid before. Alec Guinness is just brilliant as ever. And seriously all of the actors here in this movie just doing the job reading their scripts act with it and Lucas didn't even have the whole episode 1 - 3 story lines at that time. He cares bout the success of his first Star Wars. I guess its not even called episode IV at that time.
I noticed his expression in that scene too! Especially the way he says "Very interesting..." I don't know if Lucas had the story for the prequels in his head or not at the time, but it definitely works.

Maybe they will eventually hide it behind some CGI rocks.

That would be great, it would improve the thread if they did

If this included the unedited OT I would buy now at 79.99 as I think it is a great price for the full series and a ton of extras.

But without the unedited OT I will wait for it to drop to 60.00

same here tbh,i dont wanna spend more then 60 on it max cause of not giving us the OT unedited.
the price has just gone up to nearly 87 actually!
this is the worst period to buy this set pricewise tbh, stores know this all to well, this set is now mainly bought for a present to put under the x-mas tree wich is normal ofc.
also i dont understand why the US release is so expensive in the first place when compared to the UK one, wich was at US 74 a x weeks ago including postage and vat!
also the UK one has each disc housed in a seperate plastic casing instead of the US one beeing a slide in carton each disc sort of packaging!
the difference is...you get verry light surface marks even when one would be carefull with the carton...not so with the plastic casing...
UK one has a seperate booklet that has all the pics from the US one...PQ & Audio is exactly the same and it is also regionfree
just wait untill jan and i'll bet you the stores will start dropping the price of this set drastically.

Well he is at its best when he starts acting, I'll never see another Alec Guinness though

My apologies if this has been asked before, but I'm really not going to go through all 40,000+ replies. Does anyone know if the Star Wars box set from the UK has the 1080i/50Hz problem? I prefer the packaging on that set than the one in the US, and it's only $70 to import, which, currently, is cheaper than US amazon.

its not 1080i 5Hz,that happend during the "old" days but rarely we get a interlaced release now, especially not a big catalogue title like this,it's mastered in 1080P 24fps,as it should be
and yup, same here, the packaging is way better for "grabbing" the discs out of the plastic casing rather then "trying" to get them out of the carton one,its scratchfree the plastic..UK..
so yup...rest assured, the PQ and AQ and the way they play are identical now,it does occasionally seem to happen with "extra" discs in sets wich can be dvd's like in the LOTR set,PAL and NTSC and the problems this might give, but not with this 9 disc blu ray set
i hope this sort of answerd your qst, cheers

Just watched The Phantom Menace with the Archival Commentary. I was sufficiently entertained. Can't wait to watch the rest of them with the Archival Commentary on.
