It's been re-released a few times with various packaging changes but the discs themselves have been more or less the same (apart from widescreen and fullscreen versions). I think there was a 2004 which was available until the 2006 versions (which included the theatricals as bonuses) and they've been included with tins, separate releases and box sets and so on.

It's well known in these parts (as are the other reviews for Episode II and II). I watched a bit of the 3D review and I almost had a stroke.

If you're only looking at the USA, four times.

2004: 4-DVD trilogy box set (SE editions of IV-VI plus bonus disc)
2005: 3-DVD trilogy box set (SE editions of IV-VI)
2006: 3x 2-DVD movie singles (Disc 1 = SE; Disc 2 = Theatrical) [Best Buy had an exclusive tin holding all 3 singles]
2008: 6-DVD trilogy boxset (all 6 discs from 2006 in a thinpak box)

The SE discs were identical across all releases, though. If you count unique discs, there were 7 total: 1 SE disc for each movie, 1 theatrical disc for each movie, and a single bonus disc for the entire trilogy. Of course, there was no release in which you could get all 7 discs at once...

Dude, not everyone are pathetic internet/star wars geeks like a lot of us, neither will they have trawled through this entire thread - so there is a chance that those reviews are new to some people.

FWIW I think they are absolutely brilliant with AOTC being a personal favourite.

You will also find a lot of morons on here dismissing them and hating them without ever having actually watched them (you know who you are)

I assume that there will be many re-releases of The Star Wars Films on Blu-Ray, especially The Original Trilogy. I think Lucasfilm will do the same thing as they did with the DVD releases, I think they will re-release the same Blu-Ray Discs that have already been released.

I'm hoping that they do re-release The Star Wars Trilogy on Blu-Ray with better transfers. I do hope that The Original Theatrical Versions of The Star Wars Trilogy make their way to Blu-Ray eventually.

Ok really nobody cares about you guys and your lame deity Plinkett. I am surprised that you haven't got banned with your constant hostile posts. I don't have to watch something to know I won't like it, like someone doesn't have to have cancer to know you don't want it. I find the PT detractors are the more belligerent than the fans of the PT, I am not in any way rude to anyone who dislikes the PT because I don't have regard for anyone's opinion but my own, I am not at a weak minded person who is at the mercy at others. If you don't like the movies just move on I find it rather pathetic someone would dedicate hours to watching reviews on something they don't like: MOVE ON!

WOW

"I am not in any way rude to anyone who dislikes the PT"

"really nobody cares about you guys and your lame deity Plinkett"

He's no deity, I have seen them once and moved on. They are very funny, extremely well made and even better informed short films. As someone who has successfully fought cancer I particularly enjoyed your analogy bravo for that.

Originally it was an inncoent post by the other guy who wasn't aware that people like you exist (and respond with such hate) that has created an hilarious and borderline scary/fanatical response. Neither did he realise how many times those reviews have been discussed. Nothing hostile at all. Sorry people with different opinions to your own haven't been banned.

Thanks for the prejudice, lumping all us "detractors" in together like it is all one subspecies. I shall keep a note of your screen name and look out for other such amusing, frightening and wonderful posts,

Peace.

Not at all rude, you say? Got any other lies for us? Do us a favor and peddle your ignorance and belligerence elsewhere.

I don't think there's any tech problems with the existing discs, but some of the FX shots still need fixing. The TIE battle with Han and Luke in "New Hope" has tons of visible matte boxes around all the ships, in almost every shot. Also, a few sabers still need fixing.

The skin tone colors look a bit odd at times especially in A New Hope and there is no question modern film scanning would bring out more detail and a more film-like presentation as these look a bit digital at times. By comparison, watch how good Raiders of the Lost Ark is going to look as they did a 4K scan for it.

Still - these are not the disasters like some people have made them out to be.

Ah, thought he meant that.

And yes, I agree, I probably haven't seen 1% of this massive thread and I only just came across these reviews.
'Star Wars' is the least of my "worries" in film-history, and I didn't know if EVERY 'Star Wars'-fan would know these reviews,
so I simply posted them to make sure, in case it was a long time ago that it was posted and all that.
So yes, I'm serious, sort of... lol Why are YOU so serious? :P

This thread is the crown achievement of the Blu-ray.com forums in terms of posts, too bad it was unstickied.

What's this "Star Wars" everybody is so passionate about? I would figure it out but I'm too busy having a job, getting laid and moving my things out of my parents basement to have time to look into such things.
