I can't recall where the NOOOOO is in ATOC.

I know other than the two mentioned, Luke says it in Empire. Anyone remember the other three times?
I hope Lucas had a better reason than that. "Let's have someone scream "NOOOO," in every movie. *facepalm*

On another note, I bet we'll get the Unaltered OT in 2027. What else do you think they're saving for the 50th ann? or is Lucas waiting for his ex to croak?

The Noooooooo is in that scene but it's inadvertant. It's actually coming from off-set and eminates from Natalie Portman's trailer after she'd been given the script for that day's scenes with Hayden C by the fireplace.

It'd be pretty funny if after all this time Lucas really was holding back the unaltered trilogy just to spite his wife

Honestly I don't care that much anymore, I like Star Wars but after the Prequels, and all the terrible changes to the originals I'm not nearly as fond of them as I used to be. Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Out of all the changes, that had to be the worst change ever.

He turned a serious moment which relied on its silence and turned it into a joke, so yeah, he probably did do it for a laugh.

There are rumors that she gets writing credit on the original cuts but not the special editions. If that's true, they he really won't ever release the original strings on TIE fighters version again.

I don't really think there are enough guys living in their parents basement for it really be worth his while since the masses will buy the latest special edition. I am really hoping the deleted footage from the BD's get finished up and reedited back in for extended special editions. Love the Wampas in Echo Base, and would really like to see the original Luke in Anchorhead intro that was planned. Birth of the Rebellion needs to be back in Revenge of the Sith, as well, though I like the cinematic/concept fight between Yoda and Darth Sidious better than the theatrical cut, as well as the Droid Control Ship in Attack of the Clones, too.

I'd have preferred it if that ROTS alternate scene where
[Show spoiler] in the Duel in the Senate between Yoda and Sidious, it is Sidious who flees
was inserted into the film.

It was the editing she was credited and awarded for. As for the writing I don't think they give credits to spouse/partners giving suggestions and help no matter how meaningful and useful it is or was. I'd imagine it would cause chaos if they did. Although a few divorces proceedings have gone down that route!

The speculation was that the special editions have been changed enough that her editing credit no longer applies or the films have changed enough that they're no longer classed as the same film so any profits or sharing are no longer shared after their separation, I can't see how that could be true or rather it seems completely unjust.

But we did hear stories that actors weren't receiving their points because Lucasfilm accountants said the films hadn't gone into profit or the grosses couldn't be tallied because they were still ongoing projects....

I'm sure it's all idle gossip and speculation though!

Just finished watching ESB, and is it just me or is Han's screaming as Lando and Vader leave the torture chamber lost in the spiffy new mix? It's really the only audio complaint I have with ESB, but it's there. You can still hear it, but barely, unfortunately it could better be heard on the VHS stereo mix.

Yes you can still hear Han screaming as lando and vader leave the torture chamber in the new mixes. The mixes that where done for ANH , ESB and ROTJ on Blu-Ray are based off of the ones from the 2004 DVD with a ANH getting a whole new remix. I like the new audio mixes their the best the films have ever sounded and they fixed a few of the audio errors the fans complained about when the dvd's of the OT came out in 2004.

I love that you literally defend everything about this release and GL/Star Wars in general. It's really sweet and I hope one day your devotion pays off in some tangible way.

Your last line is the correct one. No one on this forum has any idea what was in their divorce settlement. So it's ridiculous to speculate on it. And while anything can be negotiated and put into a settlement, the way it generally works is any income or assets before the breakup are split down the middle. That's completely separate from anything she would be owed if (and it's a big if) she's a profit participant on any of the films due to her role as an editor. Furthermore, if she was a profit participant on the original versions of the films, then she's a profit participant on the special editions and the latest editions, regardless of any further edits made. So it's absurd to argue that Lucas is holding back the original edits because his ex would get money. But having said that, she could (or could not have) been bought out in the settlement. So in the end, no one knows anything.
