Again that is your choice, and I will take up for Lucas and I really could care less what others think of him. I have been a fan my entire life and thoroughly enjoyed all 6 of his films. I would prefer to have both the theatrical cuts and the special edition cuts on blu ray but it is not my choice, and even if I wasn't pleased I wouldn't go on message boards whining about it. I know it has been said many times before but we as consumers have the right to say no, and i happily said yes to owning my 6 favorite movies on blu-ray, some people have to realize in the end that their stand against buying the movies really doesn't matter and we are not all that important and some people should get over themselves!

I don't think George, or really anyone else, cares if you want to be in reality or your delusional fantasy land.

I am not a lucas basher, or sympathizer. I remember sitting in my home town movie theater back in 1977 for " A New Hope" as it was later re-titled. To the point...The originals should be released. Too many fans to just let their money spent elsewhere.

What unerves me is the hatred that goes on in this thread. I mean it's tireless. WE GET IT! Do you constantly feel the need to envoke your will on others who clearly enjoy all six of Uncle George's movies? IT'S YOUR OPINION!
Nobody can change that. But you don't have to be disrespectful to other members. I mean the same people consantly parole this thread waiting to jump down someone's throat at the slightest, of differing opinions. If it wasn't for the fact you feel safe talking to someone like a douchebag, from the comfort of your own home/Parents basement. You talk to people you meet on the street like that? Were you Bullied? Did your parents hurt your feelings when they said your opinions do not matter, that you feel it is your calling to do the same to others? GET OVER IT! Their are civilized people in this thread that just want to talk with other fans in this thread.

Oh, by the way, TDKR? Nolan's worst movie yet! Not nearly as enjoyable as the first two. It's too long and has way to many plot holes to be forgiving. You just can't see because of fanboy loving. Not that the others didn't have their problems. It's just in the grand scheme of things, way to many ruin the enjoyment for me. This movie was just as bad as Spiderman 3, and I own that, so the fanboy in me will probably won't let me miss owning TDKR. Nolan's not perfect. There, I said it.

Thank you this is one of the sanest posts I have read, the same few posters come everyday either to bash fans, or haters of the PT. 99.999% of people have made up their minds about what they feel about the Star Wars movies one way or another. I don't see the point for people belittling someone because they have a different opinion. Me I am arrogant I don't care what anyone thinks about what I like as I like it that is all that matters. I said it before and I'll say it again lastly I was disappointed that the theatrical cuts were not included in this set, did it detract me from buying this set an emphatic: NO, and if you are still irate about this a year later you should find some other blu ray set you enjoy because obviously this is not for you

I hope I'm not the only one who sees the immense irony in this post.

Some people take it too far, but most others are simply expressing the reasons they dislike the PT or special editions amidst the, ahem, fanboy loving. You know, kind of like how you did with TDKR (an opinion to which you're fully entitled). You felt compelled to share this negative opinion in an unrelated thread.

Imagine you're reading about TDKR and how much people love it. You'll probably chime in and explain why you didn't like the movie. Imagine if those people tell you that you're not a true fan, you don't "get it", and you should leave, instead of responding to your well-formed statements. Will you accept or will you reinforce your position with specific examples of why the film didn't work for you?

These SW arguments go both ways but your post is blaming PT/SE detractors primarily. In reality everyone chooses to take part in and escalate the arguments. I had some nasty things said to me last year leading up the blu-ray release, for example.

- not your choice? were you forced to buy the set?
- if you're willing to settle for a product that's not top-quality - that's certainly you're choice
-Just because myself and many others don't want to buy what we feel is an incomplete product/ripoff, doesn't mean it don't matter.

Unfortunately there is only one thing you can do about it. You will not be able to stop the douzen or so posters who keep complaining. They keep coming back over and over with the same posts and the same youtube videos.

Now here is what you can do, ignore their posts and their reply, ignore the baiting and just over look the postings. Better yet, place them "on ignore" on your list. Placing them on "ignore" is actually the best thing to do. You will no longer see any post they make here or anywhere else in the forum. Believe me you won't be missing much since all they mostly do is b1tch and complain in every thread they go anyway. Just ignore the post and baiting and just talk among yourself about the 6 movies, don't reply to the baiting, just let them b!tch and complain among themselves.

It is completely unfortunate, but the Star Wars films are the property of George Lucas and he may destroy his own masterpieces as he wishes. I saw the original three films in the theaters and I saw the special editions of the original three. I must admit, I liked them all. The DVD and Bluray release are a different story though. He made few but pretty stupid changes to the special editions (Darth Vader yelling no?, Haydens face added to the end of The Empire Strikes Back?) No George Lucas does not give a damn about his fans, but he doesn't need to be. He has the right because they are his films. It's too bad though that a great movie series that I saw and loved when I was younger, does not exist any more. Too bad.
I did cringe when I heard that another masterpiece was to be altered on DVD release, but it was a Steven Spielberg film, and he had the decency to put the altered version (replacing guns with walkie talkies?) of "E.T." and the original version on the same DVD package. He does care about his fans, but he doesn't need to be.
My point is that we fans may cry and scream bloody murder at the stupid alterations of an original masterpiece, but in the end they are not our property. They are the property of the filmmakers.
We as fans can only wish and hope that other great filmmakers are confident that they have produced classics, and have no need to alter them.
Imagine if Steven Spielberg added a CGI shark to the Bluray release of his classic, "Jaws"?

I don't mind constructive criticism on the prequels, or SE's, in fact I even welcome it, however, I fail to see the logic in statements that suggest George ruined their childhood or fundamentally altered the films to such an extent that they are completely unrecognisable from their original state. To be sure, there are extensive (and quite a few unecessary additions) to the OT, however, IMO, the films are not ruined in such a way so as to detract me from the enjoyment of them. I'm not a Lucas basher or worshipper, and as I've said there are changes which I wholeheartedly disagree with, however, when it comes down to it, Star Wars is Star Wars, and I like Star Wars

Nice to hear one of Uxi's oldies again. See, I've developed an attachment to your posts, and if you were to suddenly change their fundamental character, I'd miss the old ones.

If you're taking requests, I'd love to hear "CGI Yoda is better than that stupid puppet". Never get tired of that one.

There is one really BIG problem with doing that P@t.

And that is if you put a poster on ignore, besides being unable to read his posts, you are also unable to read any threads that they may happen to start. Including other posters responses in that same thread.

So if the ignored poster happens to start a thread regarding the Blu-ray arrival of the great 'Alexander Nevsky', you would never know about it because the whole entire thread will be invisible to you.

And that is just way too high a price to pay.

Yea. I was really really hoping that they would have included the remade I-MAX version of the first scene from 'A New Hope'. That would have really looked fantastic in HD!
