But we see Luke had a sister at the end of Sith, so that mystery is no longer a myster when Empire tries to play it off as one. Also, it's also supposed to be a mystery about who Yoda is in Empire until Yoda actually reveals who he is, and THAT mystery is prematurely answered now by the trilogy.
True, but the "sister" twist did not have nearly the impact on pop culture as the "father" scene and was, by comparison, rather unimportant. The context was not as dramatic either. It was treated by the characters as something that they have always known on some level rather than a big plot revelation that changes the course of their lives.

IMO, the dramatic irony of knowing Leia's heritage, her strength, and her potential makes her character much more interesting (apart from the awkward sexual tension) and better serves the overall story. But you might disagree, which is cool.

I do think that the "father" twist is the strongest argument for release order, though (along a general appreciation for film history).

This set is in my collection now for over 1 year and I still haven't watched all the films yet. In fact the only ones I've seen are TPM & ANH.

Is the EMPIRE OF DREAMS documentary anywhere on this set (or anywhere other than the bonus disc on the DVD trilogy)?

This has probably been brought up before, but I was just watching Empire Strikes Back and I heard a weird voice/sound from it I never heard before, right before Luke goes into the Cave, He says the line, "I feel cold." After that I hear a voice saying "Death." and then Yoda talks, has anyone else heard this before and was this ever in the other versions of the films?? I don't have my DVDs with me, other wise I would have listened to them

Luke has always said "Death" after cold.

Thanks for the response, for some reason I never heard that line before in the DVD release and also the VHS release, last night was the first time I truly sat down and watched Empire, I have noticed more clarity in every movie on this blu-ray set, and that "Death" line was one of those clearer things I could hear

A friend mentioned this to me and it made quite a bit of sense. To start the story with Luke leading up to him finding out that Vader is his father keeps the surprise intact, then watching episodes I-III feels like a "flashback" of sorts. I find that watching it this way builds up the rise, fall, and redemption of Vader quite nicely.

Look it up on Google.

Been around a long time.

I think Beast holds the record for most posts in a single thread.

Mods just cleaned up this thread, all the recent posts about Carrie Fisher's nail has been deleted. Total posts has changed.
