Fox probably has one more big set in them before they lose the rights to the all of them but the first film.

Whenever Disney does their home release, they will most likely only do itunes digital copies.

Was just reading this concerning the 3D versions...

http://www.firstshowing.net/2013/rum...tting-in-2014/

Still seems like it would be smart to release Episodes 2 & 3 in 3D since they have been converted and it'd be good marketing leading up to Episode 7. I'd pay to see 3-6 in 3D.

Can't disagree with you there - everyone is entitled to an opinion but not everyone's opinion is equal. But it is not the medium that makes it bad - people need to realise that. And you can't dismiss an opinion just because they are a fan or not "in the business". Bob Orci was quick to point out that he writes for a living and the complaining fans don't - fans like Ron Moore wrote TNG during its successful years and went on to successful careers and TNG was his first writing job. Also, what does that say about JJ and Star Wars since he has said he was a fan of the original films? Maybe he isn't the right person to work on them? It is very strange that when you are a fan and saying how great a film is, people accept it with no reasons needed but when you say something is bad and can explain why, you are just some idiot behind a keyboard who doesn't count.

In the end, the film maker has to do what they think is right and can't be at the whim of the fans but they can't be surprised when they get negative feedback from the audience over decisions that they made. If the audience is just sitting there going "Jar-Jar sucks" and nothing more, then yeah ignore it but if they provide constructive and logical reasons why they didn't like it, they have every right to express it without being shunned. There is no law that says the film maker needs to read or reply to the opinions.

I wasn't thrilled by the 3D conversion of Phantom Menace but with a new movie coming out, it does make sense to release them and get the hype started. I would go to see Star Wars in 3D especially if it was in IMAX format.

Umm, maybe because JJ Abrams is an accomplished writer with multiple TV & film credits in his resume, and he's not "IH8INTODARKNESS69" on some message board. Even Moore's scripts needed polishing and were rewritten by the staff. Very few scripts were the product of a single person on TNG.

I'd love to see the rest of the films in theaters, 3D or not. The opening of Sith would be awesome in 3D.

I have no idea why there is all the hate, if you like star wars then good if you don't why comment here about it, if you are adults why are you conducting yourselves like children, I love Star Wars and i like George Lucas, he has had some really good films. I don't see a problem with a disagreement but it sounds like whiny baby talk can't we all just get along.

But that's the point - you are writing it off because one is some unknown fan and JJ is known. What if "IH8INTODARKNESS69" was a novelist? Would that be okay? What if they are in film school? Does that mean everyone who complains about Windows should be ignored because they are not programmers? As for accomplished, Felicity - 67 episodes, 17 written by him, Alias - 92 episodes, 13 written by him and it gets less and less as time goes by. If Ron Moore didn't write all those scripts on his own, don't tell me JJ did as well. Everyone needs to start somewhere - being new or unknown doesn't mean your opinion is less valid than someone who has been around for a while. Lucas was still pretty new when he did Star Wars. So were most of his stars. Should they refilm it with an modern established director and stars to see if they can get a better version of it?

Look at my signature...I'd do IV-V-II-III-VI, seriously, there is no reason why spend another two hours with TPM, it has no relevance in the story.

Only if you want to know who the characters are and how they relate to eachother and the overall story.

I saw Phantom Menace 3D at the BFI IMAX. The image was cropped and the 3D was pretty poor, but I'd love to see it again on Blu-ray on a decent 3D screen, i.e. my own.

If the conversions for the other two prequels have indeed been completed, they might as well skip the theatrical release and release them all as a BD boxset with movie cash in time for Ep VII.

The 'waterfall' shot? It'd be amazing if done right.

Obviously it isn't perfect...but I still think there is nothing relevant (besides the podrace and the final battle) to watch.

Think how you just finished V, having learned the 'truth', and then you jump into II, you're seeing Anakin (who we know is Luke's father) and Obi-Wan (who we already know), there's nothing else relevant from I needed anymore, or is it?

For a SW marathon, I'd rather just do IV, V, III, & VI. Keep the cream of the crop and only see what you really need to see for the backstory. Plus, I don't think I can stomach watching the "romance" scenes in Ep II again.
