I'd rather have the Yub Nub music back too. Sorry but I'll take singing ewoks over Yanni-esque new age garbage. Actually the music from Yub Nub isn't so bad in and of itself, it's the singing that makes it cheese ball.

I love the new end music for Jedi. That ain't Yanni, it's Johnny!

The respective music fits both versions rather well. Yub yub's great for the more intimate, smaller-scale ending of the original, and the new cue has a bigger, grander feel which is perfect for the montage of celebrations from across the galaxy.

And there's my problem, it goes from a celebration of the rebels to a celebration of the galaxy.

And yeah it may be Jazzy Johnny Williams, but Jazzy Johnny by way of Prozac.

Yub Nub doesn't really feel like a proper musical cue to end such a large scale epic saga. The new (and by new I mean 17 years old now) is much more appropriate.

The only issue I have with the new end to Jedi is that I feel like news spread REALLY fast throughout the galaxy that the Emperor was killed. And who knew if he really had? Maybe his shuttle got out before the Death Star blew up. The Yub Nub sequence was good because it was a celebration of the Endor victory. I think originally, the story wasn't over and 7-9 were going to be the crumbling of the Empire. But then GL decided to just end it right there.

I get the intention of the what was recorded for the SE, but then there's once again a fault in the visuals; CGI of the other planets, seeing Naboo is just as much an eyesore as Christensen. More importantly is the last frames leading up to the final frame. There are more cuts, so the camera doesn't stay on Luke long enough as he reaches his catharsis. I also want to say in original cut, Luke gives the Jedi ghosts a "charming wink" before Leia takes him away. I believe the original is more effective with it's ending on a more personal note with the kiddie; Yub Nub, than the SE's mediocre results to close it on a grander scale. It's a respectable attempt just like the prequels lol

This round goes Yub Nub

The new celebration is terrible and I prefer the Ewok song. But even that change is nowhere near as bad as the new Jabba dance number. Every time I see the new scene I expect to see Boba Fett moonwalking back and forth in the back ground.

I think Return of the Jedi got the worst changes. Jedi Rocks sucks, the CGI in that scene is terrible. Yub Nub is better than "Victory Celebration", and Hayden showing up at the end is hilariously awful. Vader's "No" doesn't bother me that much though. I still like watching the Blu, but these changes really stick out to me more than any of the others in the OT.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lucas added Jedi Rocks just to piss people off when they started complaining about the rumored cameo of 'Nsync in AotC. I am also convinced that he knew how much people hated the "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" in RotS so he decided to add one to Jedi just to piss people off. Kind of like how in the artwork for Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull in the Indiana Jones set there is a picture of him wearing a Han Shot First t-shirt. Out of all the pictures they had they used that one.

I think that dance number is the worst "enhancement" they made, because it lasts the longest. Just curious who was in the room frowning when Lucas announced that one - "yes sir, that's a great idea".

I can just imagine the people who had to work on the scene. "Honey, I am off to work to ruin Return Of The Jedi, don't forget to lock the door when you leave."

GL definitely took a more painful dump on Jedi than ANH; it hurts to watch the those changes. He took a pretty messy one on ANH though too....

Still he's got a lot a spirit.

This is interesting battle of the worst - Jedi vs. ANH

Christensen vs. CGI Jabba
Jedi Kocks vs. Greedo shoots
Vader "NoOoOo" vs. Mos Eisley filler

Let's start Running! - Damon Killian

I just love the logic he uses to defend it - "I thought it would be fun"

I am curious to see what happens with the original movies both once Disney gets it and before. I don't know all the details regarding Fox's deal but you can't think they are going to let the new movie come and not try and cash in somehow. I think that new movie is going to impact Disney's decisions a lot on future projects as they will use that as a gauge to see how much interest there still is in Star Wars which is not a great way to do that. Again, I don't know what rights Fox still has but I wouldn't be surprised if Fox traded the opening fanfare for the new films for some extended rights or maybe the right to create/distribute an original cut of the films on blu-ray. Then again, Mickey Mouse may flip the off and give them nothing.

How I think it will work out is this: Disney releases the new film and it makes $1.6 billion at the box office plus another $1 billion in merchandise and tie ins. Disney buys rights of the first film from Fox for a shitload of money. Disney releases a set of the prequels a set of the original trilogy special editions and then each of the new films as they are released. After the three new ones are all released a huge 9 film set is released with the OOT possibly. Then the solo films are released individually.
