Very true. there's a lot of good in the Star Wars universe and it would be a shame to have it snuffed out due to pointless arguing on certain points

First off, yes it has gotten out of control a Million times at least & that would be the same-o same-o that has happened continually over the years. Always the same argument erupting to cause the thousands of post to be removed.

Star Wars is a big thing that will always be that way. I love the way I have it on Blu-ray & can't wait to see the new one when it comes out.

Well, I don't think it's that. It's certainly not that in my case, anyway. It's folks who come in and start implying that anyone who does like what's happened to Star Wars are mentally impaired and it's happened on the regular.

I have a thick skin and really could care less. But it's not about Star Wars at all, really. I want the UOT and I also appreciate as an... ahem... older gentleman AND an artist- in my fashion- that your opinions change drastically as you grow older and that appears to be what's happened with Lucas. For good or ill. But the discussion here isn't about that.

I LOVE reasoned discussion. What I don't love is folks who think the anonymity of the internet gives them carte blanche to dismiss other people without ever actually having to answer for why they think the way they do other than that curt/smarmy 'you're an idiot' or a 'sycophant' kinda thing. This wasn't you, I don't think. But it definitely goes on here, again, on the regular. People regularly get labeled 'apologist' from people who I gather had never heard the word before some nerd brought it up on youtube to indict The Phantom Menace.

I lurk on here everyday without always posting- I have a three year old and two jobs, so that gets in the way, but it gets my goat when folks get dismissive and say things I highly doubt they'd have the gall to say in public, and claim that it's okay because it's just a thread on the internet or whatever, and I do think they should be called on it.

What are you talking about? Lucas cannot possibly regard Pixar as his company (other than the fact that he started it) - he sold it to Steve Jobs early on - in February of 1986, over 28 years ago and just nine years after the first Star Wars movie was released. It was sold by Jobs to Disney in 2006, making Jobs the largest shareholder of Disney. Those shares are now held by Jobs' estate.

And Disney will be hands off on Lucasfilm for exactly as long as it makes money in line with their expectations.

Nor should you be sorry at all. I am one of these "old folks" that saw Star Wars back in theaters in 1977 and I enjoy the prequels. If you enjoy something, there is no need to be sorry for it nor having some other posters telling you are 4 years old because of it like some have done in this thread. It's like the posters who like to make fun for example of people who enjoy Michael Bay movies (another guy who get's a lot of hate by too many whinners). I just don't get exactly what they get out of it? They think they are superior by doing something like that?

I don't think its a question of caring outside of those who take it too far of course and call for him to die It's mostly that you wish to talk about Star Wars and the thread is suppose to be about the Blu-ray release but all the good post are lost into a sea of repeat posting by the same people, saying the samething over and over again. Yes we understand that you want to UOT but enough already, we heard you, we got it. Let's just move on to talk about Star Wars. But we can't cause they again post another 4 or 5 pages of the same old stuff over and over again.

What I have done now since yesterday is place a bunch of people on the ignore list. I am sorry to do so cause I know some of them in other threads and enjoy talking movies with them but they highjack this thread to the point where I wasn't posting anymore and well I decide too bad but I enjoy Star Wars and want to talk about it with other who enjoy it as well.
