I see no reason to replace the Empire/Jedi Yoda, especially considering that the Clones/Sith Yoda was purposely made to mimic the Empire/Jedi Yoda. The TPM Yoda has got to go though.

If we don't get all the versions on BD, I hope we at least get the original & most up-to-date verions... In other words, if they have to skip versions, they should skip the in-between stuff.
I think we can all agree the yoda puppet in Episode 1 TPM was bad and I am looking forward to the new digital yoda for the blu-ray release of Episode 1 TPM.

Actually, other than a new audio mix{at least for ANH}, I heard that the OT will remain unchanged from the 2004 releases.

That's what I heard as well. Until Lucasfilm releases a full press release of what kind of tweaks / changes as well as what kinds of content will be on the blu-ray release we will have to wait and see what is on the Blu-ray release. I think the next Press Release of the BD's will come either after the super bowl in Febuary or in May or June of 2011 before the release in fall of 2011. Again I am just guessing.

So the films are due to release in fall 2011 for sure?

Like I said earlier, I know they are working on introducing Grevous in Clones, as GL has stated this himself. He felt he (Grevous) was introduced too abruptly in Sith. I agree with that. Then again I also think Dukoo was introduced too abruptly in Clones...

Padme: I think Count Dukoo is behind it.

Who the Hell is Count Dukoo?

Anyway, just becase they are working on placing Grevous in Clones, doesn't mean it will see this BD release. I fully expect a second Star Wars BD release down the road.

Star Wars is full of those:

"The Imperial Senate will no longer be of any concern to us. I've just received word that the Emperor has dissolved the council permanently. The last remnants of the Old Republic have been swept away." Tarkin (before the PT)

Even Jabba in ANH before the SE.

I'd be interested in seeing a back story short on Grievous whether he is added to Clones or not.

Yeah, I feel there is zero need for an appearance of Grievous in AOTC, but if it's cool I wouldn't mind either.

Now the version of the original trilogy I like is the special edition the most up to date version but I like the original version's as well also I think it is important to preserved the original theatrical cuts of the original star wars trilogy from 77-83 for histrionical reasons. Those original theatrical cuts are a part of film history. However if only the special edition's of the OT are release alongside the prequel films I have no problem with that at all.

Since it sounds like he's re-releasing them in 3D in cinemas, I wouldn't be surprised if we got a 3D Blu-ray release in a couple of years.

That's what you think. The closer we get to the release date and we get more revelations on the boxset complete with packaging art, I'm confident you'll change your mind.

Can anyone guess on when a full press release of the extras and content and release date of the star wars blu-ray set will be? After the super bowl in Febuary or in May or June?

I still think it goes back to getting rid of Maul prematurely. Obi-wan letting himself fall into the shaft to escape Maul would have not only been a bit more believable (young Padawan beating a Sith Lord is not - at least when he's not named Skywalker), but would have been a nice homage to TESB... maybe with a voiceover of Qui-Gon telling him to "let go..."

Then Maul is the big bad ass throughout the whole PT, continuing to punk Obi-wan in AOTC and in ROTS before getting decapitated by Anakin with his "captive" Chancellor watching...

Getting rid of Maul was kinda necessary. It shows the weakness of Palpaine/Sidious as a Master/Teacher, because he doesn't want to share any more knowledge than is necessary. That's why he went with turning Jedis rather than spending time instructing students of his own. Plus he's a terrible character. He's little more than a pit bull of a character. Dooku is a much more complex and interesting replacement.

I know that was the intent, but it really just showed all his cackling about having it all a part of his plan is a big fat lie as his plans get disrupted by 10 year old kids and reckless padawans who have much to learn of the living Force.

Um, there were two DVD releases. The initial release and later, limited edition 2-disc sets containing the original versions.
