If Ghostbusters, Raiders, and Forrest Gump can get re-releases, there's no reason the whole Saga shouldn't get at least 1-2 week engagements at Regal, AMC, or another national chain.

I was -17 when the original Star Wars came out and 5 when The Phantom Menace came out. Those were the days!

Such great memories, right!
I'm looking forward to taking my boys to see, at best, Episode 8...probably Episode 9. Well, at least, that's the current plan!

Yeah my son loves SW as much as I do. His favorite theater experience is Ep III. We waited in line for 3 hours for that one.

I was born in December of 1974 so I was a bit too young when it first came out at the theater. My parents did take me in 1980 to see it before Empire came out. I saw Jedi with my mother and little brother so many times I lost count over a summer because my dad was away on work then. Good times.

I don't give a rat's @ss what any critics think about any movie. They sometimes have interesting points but mostly - not worth my time.

I watch and judge films on how they affect me, and ATTACK OF THE CLONES has one of the most gorgeous scores of any of the STAR WARS film - and I love them all. "Across The Stars (Love Theme From ATTACK OF THE CLONES)" is just an amazing composition.

The conclusion of the film, with the wedding and that song leading into the closing credits sequence is probably the single highlight of the prequel trilogy and elevates its film in my estimation. Goosebump territory.

Thumbs up Fun On a Bun (Even IF Hosted by a N00B)!

We started "Star Wars: Episode I- The Phantom Menace" at 10am because this was the host's first time at his place, and even though I showed up the night before to help him out, he apparently had a few hiccups nonetheless. He didn't quite understand that as "The Host of Star Wars Day" you have a responsibility to have things prepared beforehand, in order to make "intermission" between episodes as short as possible. So we finished with "Star Wars: Episode VI- Return of the Jedi" at 2:30am.

Being surrounded with friends who are into "Star Wars" for pretty-much the same reasons I am is quite awesome indeed. Nobody was there to talk about how much money each episode made, or how the Prequals are [whatever]. Nope. We were there to watch a Saga unfold and conclude in one day, which include some of our most favorite characters, scenes, & plot-twists in all the years we've enjoyed watching movies and it was gravy train! Out of the group, I'm the only one who regularly reads forum boards, and I would periodically bring up the points folks of the interwebs point out how [this] doesn't work for some, or how others believe [that] ruins EVERYTHING. I was always met with bewildered looks because they NEVER cared about any of it. They, like me, just went along for the ride and just accepted that this was a damn-good story!

Then an UNPRECEDENTED event occured in ALL 9 years we have held this event: "Episode IV" was paused for NEARLY an hour!!!! Just as Artoo is peering at the Tusken Raiders through his rocky tomb he had hurriedly made to protect himself (making Obi Wan's "roar" rather startling once restarted), one of our guests arrives... with a giant tub of STAR WARS MERCHANDISE and a MILLENNIUM FALCON from 1996!!!! Apparently just as he was getting off of work, a woman approached him with ALL of this stuff saying, "My son was supposed to clear this stuff out of my house! How much do you have in your pocket? $39? SOLD!"

The tub contained EVERY cup that Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and KFC had back when "Episode I" came out AND nearly every figure in the "Episode I" line up, all STILL in their ORIGINAL packaging!!!111!!! It was so beautiful! It also had metal lunch boxes, loose figures from the "Power of the Force" series, watches in lightsaber cases, and a plastic Threepio head figure-case that had light-up eyes and talked! What makes this guy a great friend is sharing this moment with all of us. What makes him an AWESOME friend is that he gave us each a few choice items!!!! (I'm certain this woman's "son" is gonna be PISSED when he finds out what she did! )

After that, things went relatively smooth from then on out. Our host DID get a wee bit eager at the end of "Episode VI", and started to turn on the lights along with turning down the volume just as you see the "Ewok Celebration". I told him, "Hey! It AIN'T over UNTIL we see 'Directed by George Lucas'!" So the sound went up as the lights went back down... then it said "Directed by Richard Marquand", and I had to, of course, take crap for MY faux pas.

Yesterday was an unusual Star Wars Day, to type the least, but it was indeed Star Wars Day. Next year is our 10th Anniversary, and it'll be at my place. I ALREADY can't wait!

That piece IS excellent, it's just a shame that the rest of Williams' Clones score was hacked up, moved around, replaced with cues from Phantom Menace or just plain left out altogether.

Agreed. What's in the film for the most part isn't William's arrangement. It's a rearrangement done by Lucas and Ben ****ing Burtt.

The reasoning is because Willaims scored an early cut of the film, and wasn't present when the final cut was put together. Ben Burtt has never hid the fact that in his mind sound effects>>>>>score. Anyone who doubts that only needs to watch the documentary Within a Minute. There is a moment where Burtt is arguing with Lucas and Williams and generally acting like a brat because the score is in the forefront instead of his precious sound effects. He tried to get Lucas to drown the score out, but thankfully Williams was present for final cut of Revenge of the Sith and wasn't having any of Ben Burtt's bullshit. Having seen that, it's not hard to believe that Ben purposefully took a shit on the AOTC score since William's wasn't present during the final cut process to see that it was placed in the film the way he intended.

Thankfully Across the Stars was unmolested and remains one of my favorite themes of the Saga and one of my favorite pieces by Williams period. If the rest of the score had gotten through unscathed and Williams had been able to score the final cut and work on the sound design I've little doubt that AOTC may have had one of the best scores in the entire Saga.

i agree. plus Jango versus kenobi, young Boba, the battle in the Colosseum or whatever it was on Geonosis, yoda arriving with the clone army, (stormtroopers helping jedi's was cool), Dooku defeating anakin and kenobi at the same time AND eagerly fighting yoda seconds later, (Sith never back down when confronted by multiple jedi lol).

the movie is awesome!

As a lifelong, die-hard Williams fanatic, I was FLOORED when those special edition OT scores came out and revealed unreleased music from Empire Strikes Back- Williams in his prime. All of the albums are full of gems. Anybody who dismisses them needs to listen more carefully. Attack Of The Clones is beautiful.

And no 380 mill domestic in 2005 was a disappointment given the fact that it was the buildup to the largest film franchise ever. Should have been well north of 500 mil but the suckage that was Clones carried over to the semi suckage that was Sith hence which = 310 mil and 380 mil.

These stories always depress me, or make me angry - for this reason.

I'm just glad my parents never chucked any of my stuff without asking

Padme's Ruminations is also a great piece of music!

It's funny, she has some of the best musical accompaniment, yet has the worst dialogue in the films.

Well Williams was doing his best to bring his A game to the prequels so it's not surprising that the score far outshines the writing in the prequels. Williams loves this franchise and while Lucas may have fumbled the Prequels Williams definitely nailed his part.

Are Star Wars boards full of people who've "written, directed, or produced an oscar winning [sic] movie or a movie that made minimum 100,000 million [sic] dollars at the box office"?
