Wonder if that means The Force Awakens won't have the Disney logo, and just go straight in with the Lucasfilm logo.
I noticed this. It's also the special edition. Can't tell if it's had a new master or not. But I don't really care about digital copies anyway. I'm still holding out for the fabled UOT or 4K release!

Also to get the bundle price of $90 at Vudu, it's only for new customers that buy it as soon as they sign up. Current members have to pay full price.

I clicked on the Pre-Order button (did not complete the checkout). It still said $89.99.

Any chance of these digital movies being included with an upcoming Blu-ray release of the unaltered trilogy?

Read the fine print at the bottom of the ad on Vudu. Specifically says new customers get the special price. It may not show until you actually buy it and then get hit with the higher price. Wouldn't surprise me.
Here it is:

VUDU Star War Bundle New User Promotion
This offer (the “Star Wars Film Bundle Promotion”) is available only for new VUDU users who create a VUDU account and pre-order and purchase the Star Wars 6-film bundle within 24 hours of VUDU account creation. Eligible VUDU accounts who meet the requirements for the Star Wars Film Bundle Promotion and have pre-ordered and purchased the Star Wars 6-film bundle will receive a $10 VUDU Movie Credit Code for a future VUDU purchase. The $10 VUDU Movie Credit will be offered via a promo code issued via email beginning on April 11th, 2015. The promo code will expire after 7 days of issuance and the $10 VUDU Movie Credit will expire 30 days after redemption of the promo code. The promo code and $10 VUDU Movie Credit are non-refundable and are not redeemable for cash. The Star Wars Film Bundle Promotion offer is non-transferrable and not valid with other offers. Limit one Star Wars Film Bundle Promotion per eligible VUDU account. VUDU accounts selecting the Star Wars Film Bundle Promotion are not eligible to be merged with another VUDU account. Ohhhh, I see what's up here. The actual pre-sale price is something like $120. The current pre-order price - for everyone - is $89.99.

HOWEVER, it seems that if you're a new member to Vudu, you'll get a BONUS $10 credit down the line. Pretty sweet deal if you're a new member.

If you look everywhere else, such as Amazon, the pre-order price is $89.99. That's what it is for everyone.

Not that I'm interested in digital download movies anyway, but I'm going to guess that these are simply the versions created for the Complete Saga Blu-Ray edition.

Since it was created all digitally, it would be simple for them to release them as digital downloads to snatch up the market that buys for that medium.

And it's likely that if they were to announce a new Blu-Ray/DVD release of say, the UOT, they would release these before that announcement to avoid cannibalizing potential sales of this digital HD release. Although that could just be my own wishful thinking, but it does make sense.

Couldn't agree with you more! And honestly, it's good to see a release that is post-Disney acquisition. It also sounds like Disney and 20th Century Fox will be working together for Episode 4 and as long as that stays, the potential for the UOT to be released on BD is good!

If you own distribution rights you um own distribution rights. That is um...ownership of distribution rights. Fox doesn't HAVE to release anything. FOX could have to told them to go to hell if they wanted.

I'm pretty much positive it's coming out-- George Lucas himself is pretty much the only person in the world who would hold back the restoration and release of them-- the films are just too popular and culturally significant. Any movie company holding the rights to them WILL put them out there, and I have no doubt Disney will-- I'd bet money they were discussing it as soon as the buyout deal was happening.

The only question to me is WHEN, not IF. I'd obviously prefer it get released prior to Episode VII, as would anybody else who wants them. But that's not necessarily the case-- maybe the restoration needs more time, or they're planning on releasing them as some kind of Ultimate set after Episode IX. Who knows?

Another thing to consider about the digital download versions-- the market for those don't really care about quality-- if they did, they would be buying the Blu-Ray set, not a compressed HD download. So there would be no reason for Lucasfilm or Disney to hold off on a digital HD version for a later remastered version of the movie. Plus, the younger generation who likes to download movies on their Xbox or watch on their iPhone is more likely to not give a rat's butt about the UOT or which version they're watching.

Disney learned well from George and his "release it again" mentality. They will milk Star Wars for every cent. So after they think everyone has bought the just released digital versions, they will announce the blu rays of the UOT, probably with new digital versions to coincide. Then, i'm sure we'll get a brand spanking new box set when Episode VII comes out. And with a new movie coming every year until the end of time, i'm sure there will never ever be a "complete" box set until Disney throws in the towel and stops making more movies. So there's a potential for a new box set every year going forward. So, just how many times can we buy the same movies again and again?

I was so annoyed by the 2004 DVDs. I knew they wouldn't be original, but I figured they'd be the 1997 Special Edition, which I was mostly ok with (except for the Han Solo thing) but nooooooo, they screwed it up with more edits! Replacing Anakin's ghost at the end of Return of the Jedi was the biggest offensive. I was super pissed. Even more upsetting was that I had to buy the DVDs again in 2006 just to get the original versions, and even then they weren't anamorphic.

Not pictured: My VHS copies. I never bothered to get the Blu-rays, due to the extra changes (why the heck do the Ewok blink their eyes now?)
