The trailer looks ****ing amazing. I doubt even the UOT "announcement" would top the happiness that I feel right now.

I gotta say, I'm really losing interest in Episode 7...
I wasn't thrilled at all with the Teaser from months ago, and even though I do not watch trailers, I decided to give this one a go.
The new one did nothing for me, other than make me not care to see it in the Cinema. It seems like typical JJ fare.

What specifically didn't do it for you, and what made it typical JJ fare?

Seems like all flash and spectacle, no substance.
I could be wrong, we'll see. I'll watch the next trailer and see how I feel then.

Considering that these new movies are nothing more than Disney-produced fan fiction, I sympathize. Still haven't seen the first teaser, won't see this one, and still am not yet convinced that I'll watch the movie in theaters this December, if at all. I hope others enjoy it but I just can't get behind these new productions. Saw some of the trailer screengrabs, thought, and it was nice to see Han and Chewy, old and grizzled.

It's a teaser trailer. Flash and spectacle are the point. Substance, aka meaning, and how it all fits together, will be apparent when you watch the film.

OH, thanks, i thought I was the only one that doesn't care of a new Star Wars movie although I LOVE the original trilogy!
But it's not from seeing the trailers.
I just had this thought from the start.
3 movies are enough and making more just downrates the material (i'm not sure if I chose the right word, I looked it up) and takes something away from the uniqueness of the original films.
In my experience I have never seen a 4th, 5th, and so on movie that is better or at least as good as the first ones. (unless they are individual stories like the James bond films).
From a point and on I lose interest (I haven't seen the Hobbit trilogy),and I think the material itself has dried out..
Why I would want to see the same thing, over and over and over again?
I think number 3 is the golden number for a series of films.
After that, in my opinion, they should stop.

I was a big JJ movie fan until his Star Treks. All I see is more of the same.
Just like those and the new Fant4Stic movie, all it seems to be is a generic Sci-Fi film with just the name slathered on it.

Haha all my friends/family tell me the same thing (some with the same look) when I say that to them. If the reviews are really stellar I may check it out, but I won't be lining up or anything like that. Just not super enthusiastic about more Star Wars movies being made.

Star Wars movies are first and foremost Kids Movies! hence the PG Rating (excluding Revenge of the Sith)

JJ seems to be taking the approach of, screw the kids, we want the "adult fans" to be pleased first... The "adult fans" are the ones who lost their childhood and don't know how to have fun and want everything to be super dark and gritty!

I'm a massive fan of the original film. Like esb and Jedi to a lesser extent.

This left me feeling hollow and disappointed.

You're not alone in being averse to "the JJ effect", but it's not something I really understand. What I see are characters and designs that fit the Star Wars universe, and really couldn't be anything else, minus the Lucas ham-fisted sensibilities that made the prequels so flawed. I'm looking forward to it.

One of the biggest obstacles that this new trilogy faces is decades of extended universe and fanfic that gives the fans investment and ownership of the franchise, but also makes a lot of people think that they can make their own Star Wars universe that is better than anything anyone else can produce. It's interesting.

Right and you can gauge that from a teaser trailer.

So you can be excited by a teaser trailer but I can't be disappointed? That makes sense.
