If it's not news of a UOT release then who cares. That's what most of the older generation (Gen X) wants anyway.

Now that I have the despecialized versions of the OT I am more excited about the new film than a BD announcement of those films.

A restored 1080p UOT release would be great, but the fan preservation scene is working constantly to improve the unofficial (Despecialized) releases. I feel secure in knowing that I can see the originals when I want, and no one can take them from me.

Not really.
JJ threw out the Lucas/Arndt treatment.
Kennedy has all but disappeared.

This really doesn't seem like Lucasfilm has any control over Star Wars.
Marvel on the other hand, still very much feels and looks like Marvel. The heads of Marvel are still very public.

There was one person here who was adamant that it would be announced.
His "sources" told him so.

Mine haven't said a thing to me. Not since months before the Digital's were released. She told me that that would be the next time we see them released. She was correct. She would tell me if there was going to be another release on disk. And to look out for when the announcement would be coming.

Why now say something, why not for months already?
Besides, no one is spoiling anything.
And it all comes back to how the movies are released, who owns what and how, and about the UnAltered Trilogy.
It's all cyclical.

Does the Episode 7 Thread have talk about the other 6 movies?

Because this thread has enough bickering about episodes 1-6. Let the other thread have bickering about episode 7.

JJ works for Lucasfilm-- what makes you think Arndt's script was more in line with what Lucasfilm wanted? Kathleen Kennedy, the president of Lucasfilm, HIRED JJ Abrahms to make the movie. That's what he's doing.

Not arguing with you, I agree, but This section is also supposed to be just about the Tech Specs of the Disks, what is on them and the Special Features, and the differences between releases. All the story and cast content, spoilers and other stuff are all over these threads, not just this one and no one says anything, even when spoilers are discussed.

How can any mod lay down a rule and not follow other ones?

This isn't meant to be read in a harsh tone, just a quizzical one.

Disney hired JJ because he was flavour of the month.

Kathleen Kennedy hired him. He said no. They had a long conversation about the film that convinced him to do it.

Please stop making up things.
