It's fascinating how everyone sees them differently, isn't it?

There is so much love and appreciation.

When you watch things like The People vs. George Lucas, or those Plinket hatred videos, you can clearly see how the haters have literally word for word just been ingrained with the same criticism.
To be honest, I don't think these people do a lot of thinking on their own.

The prequel movies are so much better than given credit for.
Nor do the SE ruin/change the beloved UOT in the way these Sith Babies are made believe.

I watched The People vs. George Lucas with my wife the other day, and she said that the haters are ridiculous, as Han/Greedo shooting debate is uttlery laughable, as is the rest.

Fact is, people are insanely passionate when it comes to SW, and therefore love can easily turn into hate, just like in a relationship.

The question I would ask myself though is: Is all of this really worth being in agony, and poisioning the spirit of SW?

If I hate them so much, then maybe it's time to move on, as I have clearly either not understood them to begin with, or my inner child has long gone.

I think they are the most fun, yet at the same time meaningful and thoughtful movies ever put on screen, and I am so glad I can enjoy them the way they are. Peace out.
Wow, this is probably one of the most insulting posts I've ever seen on this thread before, and you really lose a lot of credibility when you lump together all the people who don't approve of the prequels or SE's and refer to them as haters or sith babies and say that they don't do a lot of thinking on their own.

I'm critical of the prequels and think that the People vs. George Lucas was awful.

That is a good point. Someone who doesn't like the prequels, or at least has a lot of issues with them, and agrees with a lot of the criticism of them is not "thinking for themselves," but supposedly anyone who thinks they are great and agrees with Bluyoda's opinion is thinking for themselves. You have to love the ironic contradiction on that one.

It's not that the prequels were completely bad in every respect, but so much of it could have and should have been done a lot better. It's like the comparison I made previously (which was in reference to an episode of The Cosby Show.... pardon the reference given current cirucmstances regarding the show's star)... the prequels are like taking a delicious, perfectly cooked steak with all of the trimmings and serving it on a dirty garbage can lid.

It's not that most people wouldn't want to eat a delicious steak, they just wouldn't want to eat anything off of a dirty trash can lid.

It's all in the presentation. A lot of good ideas were poorly executed IMO.

If some people like them, great. I'm glad someone does. The movies exist as-is regardless of what anyone thinks, so it's good that somebody enjoys them.

But a lot of the criticisms are valid.

I find it amusing that someone would list Return of the Jedi as the worst Star Wars film since in many ways the major flaws of that film (poor storytelling to move the plot along, bad acting, flash over substance, kiddie pandering, body function humor, call backs to previous films) are carried over and magnified to the extreme in the prequels.

I think Bluyoda pretty much lost credibility when he said they're the best movies ever made... although comparing them to "Tree of Life" is pretty comparable.... since Malick is pretty much good at shooting nature without any knowledge of how to do a cohesive story....much like Lucas

Sorry, I imagined Terrence Malick making a movie about trade negotiations and fell asleep on my keyboard.

Somebody needs to do a Malick Phantom Menace parody with narration by Jar Jar.
