According to what I read, some of the people at ILM tried to warn George that they thought Jar Jar's character was coming across poorly, but he just blew it off.

Read where?

And don't think I'm "attacking" or something like that. This is precisely how internet rumors start and keep aflame. Somebody posts a tall tale or what they *think* happen, usually preceded by "I heard somewhere..." or "I read somewhere..." and before you know it someone else is repeating it as fact.

Just like with the new STAR TREK films and JJ Abrams. He said that he wasn't a Trekkie growing up or interested in the original series, but it's now warped into "JJ Abrams hated STAR TREK!"

Where is it stated and by whom that "JJ Abrams hated Star Trek!"?

When it comes to the Prequels debate, I think Doug Walker (aka, the Nostalgia Critic) has the right idea of how to approach discussing them. He's said in the past that he will never do a full review of the Star Wars Prequel films because everything that could be conceivably critiqued about them has already been said. At the same time, though he thinks the films are bad overall, he's willing to point out what Lucas got right with them, such as in the video below:

Nostalgia Critic: Top 11 GOOD Things from the Star Wars Prequels

There is so much love and appreciation.

When you watch things like The People vs. George Lucas, or those Plinket hatred videos, you can clearly see how the haters have literally word for word just been ingrained with the same criticism.
To be honest, I don't think these people do a lot of thinking on their own.

Thanks for the citation.

However "blowing them off" implies something else other than what Lucas intended.

And he did listen to the critics: Jar-Jar is barely in the next 2 films...and is the one to give Palpatine carte blanche: sort of legitimizing anyone's bad feelings towards him!

I did like that bit, it's basically Jar Jar who hands the Republic to Palpatine on a plate.

oh hush up princess if that i'm sorry if that was too much so called rage for you by me telling people after 10 years they should chill out and relax, maybe it's just me but life is too short I actually like to focus on things I enjoy and not fixate over things I don't like, but that's just me. I have plenty of friends who love the prequels and plenty who hate them, I don't fight with people who have different view points, don't care to be honest, I'm not going to be rude and tell someone they are wrong for thinking a certain way, I only get annoyed when someone abrasively and rudely tells me their opinion is right and I am wrong to me that is childish, stupid, rude and arrogant.

He directed the utapau battle and the wookie battle. Not the opening and closing.

You say this now yet previously you wrote:

If that is not "stupid, rude and arrogant" I don't know what is. There are people (me among them) that didn't like the prequels when they came out and still don't like them to this day and just because of that we have no lives? Really? So much for maturity...

Yup, so that's incorrect on mike's part. He storyboarded the chase aspect of Grievous' fight (vaguely recalls Temple of Doom) and suggested the collapse of the spire thing for the lava fight. Also convinced Lucas to refilm the Palpatine/Windu duel as to give Anakin a firmer motivation to join the dark side.

Not quite.

He is seen in a doc looking over the opening plus:

Quote:
During the animatics stage of of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, Lucas invited Spielberg to "play with" a bit of the Mustafar duel, and Yoda's duel with the Emperor, along with a couple of others," according to The Making of Star Wars Revenge of the Sith. It is unclear how much of Spielberg's work appears in the final version of the film, but he is credited as an Assistant Director.
