To each his own, but I am happy knowing that for an extra 5 bucks I can have my set in hand at an actual time and start watching it right away.

Ok $90 bucks for the complete set ranks as deal of the year already. Amazon preorder is done. Umm listen folks if you are scared of doing a preorder until the set is shipped you can always back out with no harm done.

Very reasonable price for the Complete Saga set. I wasn't expecting 3 discs of extras either.

I do have some concerns regarding the PQ & AQ, but it's still a bit premature. I just hope they fixed many of the issues with the 2004 DVD set that had strange color grading, crushed blacks, a swapped audio channel on ANH, and a crappy CG Jabba model that looked nothing like he did in ROTJ.

I definitely want the original versions on Blu, but I'll take these for now. In a way, I'm even hopeful they tweak the original trilogy more. Am I the only one bothered by the weird hodge-podge of 1977 models and opticals, primitive 1997 CGI and half-assed 2004 CGI? If you're gonna fix up the OT, at least make it all consistent.

The Jabba CGI model from ANH is the same one from the Prequel. It looks fine. At least it's not the 1997 SE version.





At least the 2004 Jabba has the correct number of fingers and his tattoo. Something goofed up on the 1997 SE.

I hate the fact that Vader and Luke's lightsabers still mesh together in front of the Emperor. Is someone gonna fix that?!?! Regardless, I'm stoked.

After Vader and his Stormtroopers arrived on stage, Fox Home Entertainment president Mike Dunn told the crowd that the films will be offered on BD-50s with a bit rate of up to 40mpbs. The project is being personally supervised by George Lucas himself. And that's about it for the event itself.
