I think that's a given, they won't just revert the VFX back to the originals, the sound will go back to how it was too. Man, I miss Boba's old voice rather than Morrison's phoned-in performance.

Bobba's voice is part of what made him a bad ass, until they dubbed him with that deadpan Kiwi.

You know the only time in the trilogy when Han Solo sounds legitimately scared? That's right, at the Great Pit of Carkoon when someone mentions the name Boba Fett and blind Han nearly loses control of his bodily functions and has a heart attack.

"Boba Fett?!...BOBA FETT?!!"

That's pure unadulterated fear in his voice.

No one else provoked that kind of borderline nervous breakdown in the previous unshakable Han Solo. Obviously they had had previous encounters unseen in the movies that left a deep scar on Solo's psyche.

That's what Han Solo thought of Boba Fett.

...I cringe to think of what you keyboard jedi knights would do if you turned around one day and saw the Fett standing there.

Probably get behind a concrete wall, as he's lugging around a model of jet-pack that clearly doesn't meet FAA safety specs (as clearly evidenced by malfunctions befalling both Jango and Boba).

You would think a galaxy-class bounty hunter would be able to afford better kit...

You hit on the ancient "Ship of Theseus" paradox here.

Plutarch asked whether a ship which was restored by replacing each and every one of its wooden parts remained the same ship.

Boba couldn't even shoot Luke when he had him in his sights. Jango killed a Jedi without even blinking. Badass.

Like almost everything else George did with the franchise from 1997-2011, that's total revisionist bull. And thankfully, the people currently in charge of SW seem to be disregarding that for the most part.

That's the meaning of unaltered, isn't it?

No, it's merely a statement of fact. When the series went from three films to six films, the entire collection could no longer reasonably be called "The Adventures of Luke Skywalker". The prequels are not part of "The Adventures of Luke Skywalker". During the period 2005-2015 when the saga consisted of six films ( disregarding the animated Clone Wars film ), it was somewhat logical - for lack of any especially obvious alternative - to loosely consider this six-film arc as "Anakin's saga" because Anakin serves as a through-line: we follow his story from childhood to ( physical ) death, and we end with his fulfillment of the prophecy set up in the very beginning.

By the same token, in the decision to progress chronologically beyond Episode VI, the franchise logically moves beyond Anakin's story and the prophecy arc ( though he could easily still appear as a Force ghost ). Thus, once the benchmark of, say, Episode IX is reached, it would not make sense at that point to refer to the collection of all nine episodes as "Anakin's saga" any more than it would make sense to refer to all of I-VI as "Luke's saga". It's not about disregarding anything.

You are 100% wrong. Consider the opening of "From Star Wars to Jedi", which is an official Lucasfilm documentary from 1983, as narrated by Mark Hamill:

Through three films Luke would to the farthest reaches of his galaxy, seeking adventure, and manhood, and wisdom."
Note the absolute lack of any mention of Anakin.

What it boils down to is that the BS about Star Wars being all about Anakin is revisionist garbage created by an empty shell of a man who had absolutely nothing in common with the creator of the Original Trilogy except for sharing a legal identity.

The prequels are not seen through the eyes of Luke. A comment from 1983 when there were only three films, and they were "All About Luke", does not apply to the prequels or to the six-film saga I-VI. The films stopped being all about Luke 16 years ago.

It isn't. The idea and saga evolved over the years, but clearly once the concept of Vader being Luke's dad was created, it took on a different meaning. It's the story of the Skywalker family and that includes Anakin's descendants.

Star Wars has continually been in a state of revision.

The original theatrical release of SW is extremely different from original concept that Lucas first envisioned. Then factoring all the revisions in the script from pre-production to production then post.

ESB is riddled full of character revisionism in respects to ANH, specifically Vader/Anakin. Then the whole sibling aspect in Jedi.

Folks need to drop the God theory, in that everything was all foreordained in conceptualization, when discussing most creative works but SW in particular.

I enjoy and love SW like many do but one really needs to keep things in perspective and pragmatic while being enthusiastic.

Often when certain trains of thought in fandom becomes too rabid I often think of this line from a SNL skit starring William Shatner at a Star Trek convention.

"I'd just like to say... GET A LIFE, will you people? I mean, for crying out loud, it's just a TV show!"

Best regards,
KvE

Lucas' story had started turning in on itself way before the prequels were made. Anakin Skywalker was still a separate entity to Darth Vader as late as the first drafts for Empire, and once that connection was made THEN it all started becoming more Anakin/Vader centric.

Still cracks me up to see Vader merch aimed at young kids. Plush dolls, cereal bowl and spoon sets. Why not have a Charles Manson and John Wayne Gacy kids line of underoos and bath bubbles.
