Plus him appearing in that form never made any sense. The altered version works much better. It fits the mythology of the films better. And as Yoda said, "Luminous Beings are we, not this crude matter". Anakin doesn't appear bald, scarred, and missing limbs. Obi-Wan isn't cut in half. So why would Anakin choose to appear as a man he doesn't recognize. Plus it fits Obi-Wan's "point of view" that Anakin did die when he became Darth Vader. He was nothing more than a walking corpse kept alive by machines. Hence why when fireed of the shell he was trapped in, he manifested in the force as the man he once was. Makes perfect sense. If the force ghost isn't restricted by what the shape the body was in life, why would Anakin be constrained by the crude matter of his corpse. Last edited by Beast; 01-06-2011 at 10:11 PM. |

I'm done arguing. I'm not a huge OT only guy. I just realize that there are problems with the PT. Having Anakin be the center of the universe was a big mistake. He's not Jesus. He's a dude who made some bad decisions and ended up sacrificing all of his morals for power. That's Anakin Skywalker as told by Obi-Wan Kenobi in IV. That's the Anakin Skywalker I wanted to see in I-III. Now that scene in IV just comes across as truly false. Why would Anakin be a good friend if the last time you saw him he choked his wife and screamed "I HATE YOU!" while taking a lava bath. I would have PTSD if anyone asked me to talk about Anakin. I'd be on more drugs than the Homeless Man with the Golden Voice. I also realize that there's bad dialogue in the OT. Luke gets irritating in the early section of IV and a bit too authoritative around the rebels when he's supposed to be the new guy. The attack on Endor is a big mess and I don't believe that the Teddy Bear Vietcong could so easily take down a single AT-ST let alone several. Especially if this is supposed to be the same army that decimated the Jedi. ![]() So, in summary. The series has some big faults. It's still fun to watch, so let's enjoy September 2011. Also, Beast, you really don't need to be jumping down the throats of everybody that calmly says they would like the OOT in HD. It's very rude. Just keep those comments to yourself. We all get the idea that any edit other than the most recent one is "that which we don't speak of." ![]() |

No. Sebastian Shaw's Anakin has always had a nickname in fandom of "Humpty Dumpty".

Are we sharing the same brain? |

I am done with arguing, so I am asking an actual question since you bring up the first part of III... what the hell is a ray shield? I was always confused by that moment in III where they get trapped. It only showed up in that one scene and nowhere else in the entire series.

You should read the rather interesting thesis out there on them.
But people seem to be confused and think they are the force. Which seems to be what causes the issues. It explains how the force can be strong in Anakin's family for instance. Among other things. Plus it is a metaphor for the symbiotic relatationships present in the film. Such as with the Naboo and Gungans. |

Does some freak kid on an insignificant dirtball on the ass end of the Galaxy have more midichlorians than Yoda because he's strong in the Force (no chance little kid Annie could take Yoda, or even padawan Obi-wan in a lightsaber fight in Ep1 )... or does he have a bunch of midichlorians because the force is strong in his family? Obi-wan didn't know what that meant and openly asked. Qui-gon didn't know, either, but conjectured about the Chosen One business... which neither Yoda nor Mace believed one bit.

"The Death Star's thermal exhaust port was protected by a ray shield; however, Alliance proton torpedoes could penetrate it, and it was pivotal in the destruction of the battle station"
That part has got to be wrong. The torpedo didn't penetrate the shield... the Rebels flew under the shield and the torpedo clearly turns the corner. No shield would mean they would just flaw perpendicular to the exhaust port and fire straight in. |

ok there are WWAAAAYYYY to many pages to go through. I know its been asked I'm just not searching for it. The original trilogy, are they going to be the original set, or the version's wihtt he added scenes and such or both. personally If I had a choice I'd take the extened version of the original trilogy.
