Things have definately changed over the years. Heck, look at the movie "Sixteen Candles". There is nudity in that movie, and it was rated PG. These days that would almost be a definte R rating just because of that alone.

I'm probably going to hold off on preordering incase there ends up being any kind of retailer exclusive variations of this set coming out.

Honestly, the nit picking over these films is ludicrous. Anyone who feels in any way offended by some miscolouration in a special effect seriously needs to get out more.

Star Wars is tremendous fun, but when all's said and done, it's just a piece of entertainment. Let's get some perspective please!
I would say it's a fairly legit complaint. The look of the lightsabers in that shot just isn't right. I'm hoping that a true remaster (color timing and all) is being done with this release and the trailer is just made up of footage from the previous "remasters" because the new ones just aren't done yet. The remasters for the 2004 DVDs (which have been the basis for all subsequent DVD releases and Television airings) were pretty rushed just to get them out.

I think part of what makes this inexusable is that Lucas keeps making changes to "perfect" these movies, and this is clearly something that is a 180 from that goal. . If we use the prequels as a measure to compare this against, the Lightsabers in that scene now look even less like the ones in the prequels than they did in previous releases of ROTJ before the 2004 "remaster". I might expect something like this from some rinky-dink catalog release of an older movie that isn't going to sell a lot of copies and thereofre isn't going to have a ton of money dumped into if for remastering, but this is Star Wars!

With all of the changes and "perfecting" that he does to these movies, it seems odd that something like this would be overlooked as much as it was.

Honestly, while I am a fan of the orignal versions and would like them to be released, for the "improved" versions that we are getting, I actually hope that they finally go back and just redo the lightsaber effects for all 3 of the OT movies. I'm surprised that hasn't happened in any of the previous updates, and those are probably some of the most "dated" looking effects in the OT, regardless of which version of the OT we use as a reference.

Lmao... I think that his panties are in a bunch or he's trolling around. That trailer is just random shots thrown together from other releases; it's without a doubt not indicative of what the blu ray will be.

Neither. The shot is taken from a hi-def master. Whether or not that same hi-def master will be used on the blu-ray is up for debate. It absolutely could be indicative of what the blu-ray will be. Again, THAT IS IN the current HD master.

I can also turn this into this. they saw the script before saying yes to the movies, they sure like the money Lucas was giving them so they could have act a bit more professional and act they way they can. A good actor can save a bad dialogue, it's been done countless time. If they tought the script was horrible and silly, do not do the movies and don't take the money. There are stuff in my job on certain days I hate, but I get paied good money to do it, money a lot of people these days would love to have. I shut my trap and I act professionally and do it.

One shot of a bloody severed arm added to the film
You know out of all the updated changes Lucas made, he never bothered to fix this mistake and it always bugged me. You would figure the heat of the lightsaber would cauterize the wound ergo the blood should be digitally removed!

No actor in their right mind would have turned down a part in Star Wars. LOL. You really have no argument here. Jackson, Portman, McGregor, all great actors, but are mostly pretty bad in Star Wars.

My point being that once they agreed to do it, they could have act professionally but some did not.

If Laurence Olivier can still look credible with a long white toga and with a gold crown on his head acting next to stop motion creatures, Portman could have tried to make Amidala a bit more convincing.

I disagree about McGregor, the lines he is saying are not Shakespeare (far from it ) but he does a very good job as Obiwan in the prequels. He was by far the best actor in the 3 movies. Plus I never once seen him in an interview saying how horrible Lucas was as a director and what pains he suffered at having to say those horrible lines, unlike other actors in the series. That's being a professional and not an over-paied diva.

No, they did not. Some actors were locked into all three films as part of their agreement to do the first. No screenplays existed for Episode II and III, obviously, when McGregor, Portman, and yes, Neeson signed three-picture deals. Some signed on without even reading the script, because who in their right mind would refuse the offer? Hayden Christensen, for instance, was reportedly very unhappy with the conception of Anakin Skywalker in Episode II when he finally read the script -- but he had already taken the role. Lucas had not finished the screenplay, Christensen signed on anyway.

That is their mistake, I still say, they claim to be profesisonals, then act like it. Not everything in your job is always fun, you are being paied to do it (and in their case, a heck of a lot of money) then do it to the best of your abilities.

Has it occurred to you that maybe Portman was coached to be stiff?

Or she just didn't know what else to do. I blame Lucas for making her re-record all of her dialogue in Phantom Menace to sound more robotic. The "Get to your ships!" in the trailer sounds so much more organic than the one in the final film.

I'm not a huge fan of Natalie's anyway. I don't think she's very good in most movies.

I'm glad that you want to waste an extra $5, to each his own.
For me, if there is any difference at all, 80 for an annual subscription vs. 5 is the comparison. For someone who doesnt shop on amazon that much, it isnt worth it. And waht is the 80 getting you, free 2 day shipping, which means your paying to something free that you wouldnt be charged if you got it at a store anyway. So really your 80 bucks is prepaying for shipping if you think of it.

My 5 bucks, if at all, guaratees I get it when I want it and no risk of mailing mishaps.

For those that buy BRD every Tues release day, that may be worth it, cause in every bundle there are some favorites and some not as much, so who cares when it shows up.
