Yes, I know that, and would you want yours pissed on? Strangely enough, I watched a bit of The Good Shepard last night and was again revolted, as was Damon's character, when one of the "Skull & Bones" jerkoffs pissed on him during the idiotic mud wrestling initiation.

I always felt Disney and Fox had a good relationship worldwide.

It only took 50 years for Fox and WB to come to an agreement with the Batman Television series so I am sure Fox can work something out with Disney.

Except, you know, the Star Wars saga and trilogy sets, which have somehow remained in print since the buyout

Let alone the numerous collaborative releases by other companies both at home and theatrical

But people still think that Disney and Fox look at collaboration like "It's never been done in the history of home entertainment - It's insulting!"

So it's basically just because it's Star Wars, people automatically expect, or invent, drama.

Got it.

Typically when studios give steep discounts on popular movies like this.... they are trying to clear the inventory for a new release.

I would love to see individual Blu-ray releases for each movie that are not steelbooks.

Clearly what's happening is Disney has restored both the original versions in 4k, are re-releasing them into a theatrical run this July, and prepping a set as their launch into 4K Blu-Ray.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get ready for my back-to-back dates with Natalie Portman and Daisey Ridley. They both want me really bad but we'll see it how it goes and which one I'll pick. Maybe both.

I'd take both along with that Norwegian chick that was Fisher's body double in Rogue One.

What do you mean when you say "both"? Are you assuming that all 6 movies are being remastered - again? On BD or just 4K?

I think they mean special and unaltered edition of the OT.

I don't expect an "unaltered" version of VI-VI as long as a certain party is still ... extant.

I was kidding in my post (that was an ideal scenario in my head), but what we do know for sure is that a 4K remastered version of the latest (and likely last) revised version of A New Hope has been done. I think that is the only thing that has been 100% verified officially. The "both" in my statement I believe was an editing error in my post, as it was meant to say both original and revised versions.

But I do think Disney is likely to "remaster" all the films to some extent. Of course Empire and Jedi will follow with 4K restorations if they haven't been done already. The prequel trilogy is a bit more iffy, though. I don't think there's much that can be done with Episode II and III, aside from fixing the color-grading and supposed editing errors on Clones. The Phantom Menace is the one film that could really benefit from a remaster though.

The original trilogy has been restored in 4K, but apparently just at the 'special edition' level so far: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...0#post13314770

In order to do stabilization, don't they have to zoom in slightly on the image?

Deals come, deals go; I opted to pass on the recent slash 'n burn discount on The Complete Saga what with the faint hope of a fresh mastering on the twin-sunned horizon. The '04 DVDs scale up surprisingly well...and even at sixty bucks, incremental gains on those old and problematic masters--along with fresh CGI affronts for my trouble--was too tall an order. I expect it'll be the same song and dance--unless there's a surprise reversion to Lapti Nek, know what I mean?--come late November as online retailers anticipate Episode VIII. Substantially better editions of The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones were also mild inducements, but there's a Prequel Pack for that...

With my luck, they'll release great remasters tomorrow. I owned the original set of IV-VI, didn't really care for I-III, but I'm a sucker for DigiBooks, so I bought the 9-disc DB (new) on eBay for $41.50. Still not sure why, but I figured, I should give I-III another shot and with the extras ... who can say?
