Maybe if we had better writers and a director, the NuTrek cast wouldn't feel so terrible in comparison to the originals. We know the stories could be a lot better... They couldn't really get much worse unless Lindloff was writing!

I would too, I'd love to have the theatrical cut with an HD transfer that's a bit more sympathetic to the original 35mm acquisition than the grain-scrubbed BD.

I'd actually be fine with that. I know Phantom Menace was made to look more digital like Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith for the Blu-ray, but I'd like to see it in proper film-like HD.

I do have Beneath the Dome on DVD. I recall getting it years back as a birthday gift. It may have been ordered from StarWars.com before they shutdown their shop. I don't know if there are any extras on it that weren't ported to the BD.

All I remember is being disappointed by the "documentary", as I never heard of the DVD before and upon watching it I quickly realized it was a mock-umentary and not a behind-the-scenes video.

It could be anything: the Episode IX title; that Episode IX will start filming this summer; an Obi-Wan trilogy with Ewan; a Boba-Fett trilogy; etc etc etc.

Don't get me wrong, it's also completely possible that they are announcing a 4K restoration of the original trilogy (either the UOT or SE's or both) with a limited theatrical and/or IMAX re-release of ANH in July.

I haven't been watching the Star Wars Show. Have they hinted at all what the announcement will be about?
