He seems to like to toot his own horn more than a bit so I'm going to assume he didn't.

You have to tell the SEC when you're going to dump that amount of stock and he made the filing. Not that I know jack squat about the stock market, or Lucas' finances. That's a big no on both. But he made the filing.

I'm thinking about brainwashing myself and getting the Complete Saga even though it goes against every bone in my body. I want the unaltered OT in an official release but that doesn't seem likely so I'm considering caving in. Anyone want to try to persuade me one way or the other?

Get it. The new bonus features are good to have, and we're not getting the UOT anytime soon; by the time we do, you'll get your money's worth out of this set.

If you have to buy them, get them super cheap or wait for a 4k release at least.

As much as I b*tch about the dreadful changes wrought on the 2011 versions, I'd rebuy this set if I could find it for £20. But not a penny more, sirs!

Why are so many peope against other means?

Is it not knowing how?

I mean hell, if I went on and on (not saying you) I would just do it.

I have a printer that does discs and coat them with silicon spray. Other than burned discs they are pretty much perfect. I may one day press my own (for me only), because I love the film that much.

Example, I love Mortal Kombat. I think it is a great game. I paid for countless sh*t home versions. There HAS NEVER been a true glitch free home version. I hate game pads, and I hate not having it look right on high res monitors.

So I did the research (at least 20 years ago this is), got a fast computer. Found the arcade emulator, and built an arcade. Problem solved. One day I may buy the arcade itself, but for now, it recreates the experience and with new filters it is damn near a carbon copy.

Disney even if they did put it out, would screw it up in some way. Leave it to the true fans. They will do it right.

But maybe people just moan to moan.

I actually would wait on the saga set. That mega sale makes me think retailers were clearing out their stock because another release might be on the horizon, even if it's a repack. I'll be pissed if it's true though because I just got mine at christmas and I would have rather had a version with DMR points. >_>

The way some people react towards the Forces of Destiny line, you'd think that they were 1st grade boys who don't want to be near girls because they have "cooties."

Good luck with that, pardner ($25.63). Amazon, eBay, Google - they're all $50-$60.

I'm not against it. In fact I have the despecialized versions and Silver Screen Edition of Star Wars (which I recently mentioned in the Phantasm Collection thread when a few people were talking about film grain).

I just like the idea of the unaltered OT being officially released. I'm not sure why I care that much. I guess it seems more exciting knowing that the general public could just walk in a store and buy the original versions. I might get the Complete Saga set though because it might be fun to watch them all in episode order in HD (I only have DVDs of the OT and prequels).

I am not promoting illegal, but to gripe and pollute and gripe and pollute .....it is darn silly.

For the record, let me make an indirect example. If one keeps something out of circulation by discontinuing it ...like the MK Rom and then you buy and keep at least 5 copies in your house and then you obtain the rom image that is out of print but keep all copies of MK...where are the damages?

Wouldn't I have equal damages by saying I was sold an arcade "perfect" and it wasn't?

Couldn't the same be said of Star Wars? How does one prove damages if you have the legal version in your house. Where is the illegal duplication if what you posess is not a copy of what you have?

Furthermore what is out there us no longer in circulation so where is the lost sums of money?

I guess in closing, I know of no single instance of a successful imprisonment because as some preservers said, most everyone has bought versions of them over and over again.

Or we can just keep going on this crying tirade over and over again demanding the UOT!!!! While understanding that they may never come out...and if they do...they will likely still be less than perfect.

But yes I was absolutely talking about seeking the LD's and DVD's...are you crazy? What else are you speaking of, besides the film print that I have on my 35mm projector that I have on my second property Sopranos theater style.

Oh yeah, and when I watch it....I don't charge admission because that would be a profitable unlicensed exhibition. Any distributionalso doesn't cost money either that I know of?
