The special editions add some of the same type of humor found in the prequels, such as the arrival at Mos Eisley. That type of humor isn't found in the Unaltered Original Trilogy or the new movies. I am guessing that is why some people who have grown to love the prequels and special editions think the new movies don't feel like the same universe, and some people who grew up on the Unaltered Original Trilogy kinda like the new ones and think the prequels are the ones that feel different.

I think there is room for everyone to like whatever they want. I'd just like to the the Unaltered Original Trilogy brought back and included. I think it is an important piece of history.

The cartoon Mos Eisley was always the worst change in the first Star Wars. Especially the Ronto blocking the screen during the "These aren't the Droids, you're looking for" scene.
Han shooting last, at the same time or whatever it is now, was one of the least worst changes.

I think what made people upset the most was the fact that the UOT was never released (other than the GOUT DVDs) in HD. They were unable to have both, to compare and contrast. There is the Despecialized/Silver Screen Editions, though.

Let's face it. No other form of Star Wars can top the Original Trilogy. They are the pinnacle forms of the franchise. So it's nice to be able to have the UOT in your collection as well as the SEs and the other films.

This is why I want the Blade Runner Collection so badly. I love the Final Cut, but I want to watch the other cuts of the film as well. To see a different perspective would be nice. The Theatrical Cut seems more "Noir" with the narration.

It all depends on which version you're watching.

I'm just wondering why they would want to stir up such talk.

Why doesn't Kathleen Kennedy just send someone from Lucasfilm to kick me in the balls.

You're far too trusty

It's almost like they posted that pic thinking, "I'm gonna cut across the axis and try to draw their fire."

Still, as anxious as I am to hear about an official OUT release, there will be no bargain.

seriously though, it is an odd choice

The only thing to worry about would be the time it takes for it to be sold out!

I didn't mean they were hinting at a release of the unaltered versions. I was thinking more along the lines of kicking me in the balls like stvn1974 said.

I got my hopes up when I heard Yub Nub play just before the 40th anniversary panel at celebration. My hopes are not going back up again.

I don't think the unaltered versions are ever coming. KK respects GL too much. You might as well get used to watching them via other avenues.

When are these dips going to figure out Greedo never shot at all!!! Greedo intended to take Han to Jabba provided he cooperated or gave him something to let him go. He was only shooting if forced to.

Han was the only one to shoot originally. So cut this stupid Han shoots first now!!! Lol

Now as for special editions gotta disagree. Empire was the special edition that topped the original with one very annoying change..Jango Fett voice. I so hate that...but I still take that over bug eyed woman thing as the emperor.

Well, the recent digital release of the ROTJ Soundtrack on Amazon is the same as the original 1983 LP.

https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Original-Picture-Soundtrack/dp/B01MSZALD4/ref=pd_ybh_a_74?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=SBRYGQ V64Y81S466TASC

However, if they were going to release the UOT on Blu Ray, they would have announced it at Star Wars Celebration, right?

They should have gone with the expanded version from the 1993 Star Wars Soundtrack Anthology. Best version of the soundtracks IMO

I'll never forget stumbling across that "Anthology" box set at Costco in 1993. At the time, I only had cassette copies of my dad's SW and ESB LPs since our record player no longer worked. It was great to find expanded versions of those scores and get ROTJ for the first time, and I played the heck out of them over the next few years. I haven't really listened to them since getting the 1997 two-disc releases that had even more music but I've held onto that "Anthology" set because it's still a thing of beauty.

I hear ya man.

My apologies everyone for my previous comments. I just seem to enjoy acting a fool in public forums.

I do wish they would make an official announcement either way and soon.

It's risky but we can't hold out much longer. Evacuate remaining ground staff.

Is it this one? I live this box set because they are the original unedited mixes.

Yes. The anthology set is my goto for Star Wars music. I got it in December 1993 and I still spin the disc from time to time. I must have read that booklet 100 times lol. Good stuff

^ My only gripe with the Anthology is "Ewok Celebration (Film Version) /End Credits (Film Version)." While the first half is Yub Nub, the other is the End Credits music from TESB. I can't find one that has the ROTJ Credits music with the choir version of Yub Nub.
