I think my 3 favorite scenes are:

1. Empire:When Luke and Darth are fighting in Empire right around the scene where Darth says, "You are beaten. It is useless to resist. Don't let yourself be destroyed as Obi-Wan did."

2. Star Wars: The double sunset

3. Empire: The start of the AT-AT scene

It's funny, I had pretty much the same reaction in the theater but subsequent viewings have pretty much flipped a lot of that.

First things first: everything on Naboo sucked in the theater and it sucks even more now; the seismic charge chase was awesome in the theater and has just gotten better over time. So no real changes there.

But Geonosis really drags for me now while the opening car chase (which I initially thought was pretty terrible) has really grown on me and I really love everything on Kamino now.

Seeing it in theaters, I remember leaving on such a high that I thought the movie was a masterpiece (I was young as hell FWIW lol), but now it's hard to extricate the good from the bad. There's a lot of good in AotC but the bad is so bad... But once Anakin and Padme get wheeled out into the arena, through the end of the movie, I have zero complaints.

I'm sure I mentioned this before but a few years ago the White Sox had a Star Wars night promo and throughout the game they were playing bits of the various movies on the huge center field jumbodiamondvisiontron and the single coolest clip was duel of fates. It was really powerful.

It actually made want to watch TPM again.

I'd love the Kamino stuff more if it wasn't for how godawful Ewan's hair/beard combo looks in the reshoots, it zones me out of the movie completely, every time. His beard looks like they've hoovered up a barbershop floor and glued the clippings to his face. And I still hate it that one of the best scenes in the entire prequel trilogy for conveying Padme's feelings towards Anakin was cut from the movie, when she looks out at him in the family's garden on Naboo. (And no dialogue was necessary!)

For me it's the stilted dialogue in that scene.
Jango and Obi-Wan... I... just don't... get it...

His beard in the elevator the first time we see him and Anakin is even worse.

Favorite scene of the six?

I really love the Imperial Walkers on Hoth but I would have to say the first time Luke confronts Vader in the carbon freeze room from The Empire Strikes Back. There is just so much tension and the lighting is so great. Just after the "I know" scene and just before "I am your father."

If we want to include The Force Awakens and Rogue One, I can think of a few. I love when Radus arrives with the Rebel fleet. That entire space battle is outstanding! But we know who steals the show.

darth-vader-was-originally-supposed-to-kill-a-major-character-in-rogue-one-social.jpg

I love all of Finn's funny dialogue but seeing Luke take that hood off and show so much expression without saying a word was amazing. I want to see The Last Jedi so bad!

The way Vader's lightsaber ignites is so menacing. Great scene, great movie.

The incest thing again? It's not incest as a kiss is hardly having sex and they didn't even know they were siblings...

Watched the six films over the weekend with friends and everyone still agrees that ep 1 and 2 could have been one film... Funny thing, no one wanted to watch ep 7. I agree the death star in ROTJ was a bit lame but what else could they do? I mean the death star was a huge weapon that could give them a win and with it being even more powerful than the first made sense. While it seems like it was a cop-out, the military does do redundant things always upgrading powerful weapons. This has come up in many conversations with my friends over the years about ROTJ not being very original but what could the empire do that would top the death star? Even ep 7 had a weapon that is similar but much more powerful.

I agree about the whole "repeated death star" thing. Doesn't bother me too much. It's the STAR WARS equivalent of nuclear weapons. Back when I was 12, in 1983 when ROTJ came out, I thought of it this way: how frustrating is it in all those Road Runner cartoons when the coyote devises some pretty brilliant weapons that ALMOST WORK, but then gives up on them? If something ALMOST WORKS, you're sure as hell going to try it again.

Vader's redemption. Used to be, anyway...

Alternatively, the whole battle of endor finale is amazing. It still resonates with me emotionally, and some shots still look absolutely stunning. Rewatching ROTJ for the first time in HD, you can't believe just how ahead of it's time the f/x are.

I just don’t get all the hate for The Force Awakens, it's not perfect, but … hey, different strokes, right? I recently watched the entire series so far and these were my ratings. Phantom should be lower because of Jar-Jar, but the race was great. Of course, YMMV

A New Hope - 10
The Force Awakens - 9.5
The Empire Strikes Back - 9
Return of the Jedi - 9
Rogue One - 9
Revenge of the Sith Blu - 8
Attack of the Clones Blu - 7
The Phantom Menace - 6

The DS II in Jedi is a MacGuffin anyway. The Rebels are far more interested in destroying it because the Emperor is on board.

Well, yeah.
D'uh.
If you had the chance to take out the leader of an opposing army, and he wasn't at home safe, but on vacation somewhere, I'm sure you'd be all "gung-ho" about being able to get at him easier too!
