He turned to the Dark Side to get close to Palpatine in order to kill him. Unfortunately, he got corrupted too far and Leia took up a Lightsaber to save him.

I think it would be completely ridiculous and a horrible idea if it's revealed that Luke turned to the Dark Side. If he did, it would ruin Return of the Jedi when they already showed him being tempted by it and overcoming it. And I think it would actually ruin the entire OT for a lot of people because it would be hard to identify with Luke knowing what happens. Either that or they would flat out dismiss the entire ST and just pretend Jedi was the last movie chronologically.

As if RotJ's ending wasn't already completely ruined by making each and every Hero of the Rebellion/New Republic completely ineffective and utterly useless.

I'm also hoping for a Duel of the Fates moment or a Palpatine/Anakin discussion moment. But so far I haven't seen it, except maybe the very end.
The prequels have better music then TFA and Rogue One. I'll give them that.

I do think Jazzy Johnny phoned it in on TFA (as he has been for several years IMO, not that I'm expecting greatness every time because he's kinda old, I'm just calling it as I sees (hears?) it) but I loved what Michael Giacchino did on Rogue One. It might not be a score for the ages but then what truly is these days, and it's a damned sight better than the sonic wallpaper which gets plastered all over the Marvel movies, say. Heck, I was thinking about the music in Rogue One earlier this very day for no particular reason, some of the cues just popped into my head. I get that a lot.

I definitely get that but I have to say, the TFA score has really grown on me. And oddly enough, I think that has a lot to do with the snippets used in the looping BD menu.

I mean, it's never going to rival Empire but it definitely has a lot more oomph than I first thought.

John Williams always has something to offer. And yeah, TFA might not be as great as everything- and I mean EVERYTHING- he did between 1977 and 1982, or his resurgence from around 89 to 93, but there's still a lot to cherish about it. I mean, nobody could measure up to those periods now. But I hear people say "I don't like John Williams" or "John Williams has lost it," and I really hear "I eat babies and I'm not to be trusted."

I'm of the opinion that Williams is still Williams, he's just doing different types of films as the people who he's working with are maturing and making different types of movies. His score for War Horse is terrific, as is The Book Thief, Lincoln, and sure - The Force Awakens. The only thing that's slowed him down is his cardial issues.

Check this out, Geoff. Williams premieres a concert suite of music from War Horse, using an Academy of young musicians, basically college students. Decidedly not phoning it in. If anything, his work has grown more complex, versus "more catchy". Good for him, pushing himself.

When John Williams dies, should Michael Giacchino take his place?

Nooooooo. Hated the ROGUE ONE score; literally made me enjoy the movie less than I otherwise would have. Get the guy who's doing the silly LEGO FREEMAKER series before Giacchino, in my opinion.

Michael Kramer? He doesn't really do movies.

I would actually like Danny Elfman to tackle it once Williams is gone.

I don't know about that. I didn't hate the Rogue One score but I kept expecting the Enterprise to pop out from behind something. It was a little distracting at times.

That was the first name I thought of too. I could totally see that.

I'm pretty sure John William's wife would notice, they don't look very alike.
