I would LOVE to see BOTH versions of them plus...

A total re-boot of the OTs with todays tech. Can you just imagine how awesome they would be if filmed right now?

Blade Runner was also just "ONE" movie. Last i checked there are 6 Star Wars films.....Yes only 3 in the Original Trilogy...but even still....

Fans are getting a little ridiculous with their demands. These films are held so dearly by so many that everyone has a different idea of how they should be presented for their bluray presentation. You can't make everyone happy.

I personally am more worried about how the transfer will turn out, ie Digital Noise Reduction and Edge Enhancement. I don't care about who shot first, Han or Greedo; the damn scene lasts less than a minute. Why it's so damn important is beyond me in a film that is over 2 hours long.....

i love these films too much to be bothered by small changes. The transfer and audio as a whole is far more important. I'm curious to see how these film will look in 1080p after 30 years. I would like to see colors corrected and black levels fixed.

The DVD's were less than stellar in with their poor colors and black levels. Hopefully the blurays correct these issues....

Because Lucas doesn't acknowledge those cuts as representing his vision and deams them unimportant.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you when it comes to the necessity of the unaltered OT.

I can't remember where, but on a few pages back there was a short article posted that claimed that all the problems with the DVD would be fixed, especially since they've had the time to do so.

EDIT: With how much this thread has grown over the past week, I would guess the article is more like 10 or so pages back.

Haven't watched these since forever I love the movies though. Really awesome stuff Lucas comes up with. I won't be buying these for a while though. The one with the red guy has to be my favorite episode out of them.

Darth Maul is definitely the overall best villian of the prequels (unless you count Palpatine. He was a demon spawn)

Dooku/Tyrannus, Jango Fett, and even General Grevious were better villains and characters than Darth Maul.

I disagree. He was a straight-forward, 100 percent evil representation of what it was to be a Sith. He was also incredibly scary looking. He was the one to catch the Jedi offguard, and his fight with Obi Wan and Qui Gon was the second best part of the entire prequel trilogy as far as I'm concerned. The soundtrack during that part was nearly tear inducing.

Grevious was cool looking too, and his four arms almost push him ahead of Darth Maul, but Darth Maul held off two Jedi with incredible ease until his pride got in the way, and his fighting style was way cooler than Grevious's style.

Also, if it weren't for Darth Maul, Obi Wan arguably wouldn't have known the 'high ground' trick, and Anakin would have cut him in half.

I'm also a firm believer that Vintress would have been a much better and cooler addition to the Star Wars movies that Dooku, and I've read somewhere that originally that was the way it was supposed to be until Christopher Lee showed an interest, and then he had a character written in. Could be wrong though.

They should have let him live so we could have used him as a villain in future films

George Lucas was a pretty good villain too.

Disagreed entirely. He was the weakest aspect of the Prequels for me.

The only aspect of Darth Maul that was interesting was the lightsaber battle.

If Vader died at the end of IV, he'd have been the weakest aspect of the Original Trilogy, too. Of course, said trilogy would be completely different, but without punking Luke in TESB or getting pwnt in RotJ, he's an entirely different character.

I'll say it again, best homage to the OT, would have been for Obi-wan to "let go" while hanging, fall down a chute, Maul leaves and takes Dooku's place in AOTC and ROTS... not much else changes in the prequels, except alot more Maul.

Dooku was a much less impressive Sith than Maul. Old Man who fences.

Well I disagree with your disagreement. Darth Maul was about the only decent thing in the prequels...

Can you explain what you mean by "if it weren't for Darth Maul", I don't see the connection between Obi Wan launching himself out of a pit and back flipping onto stable land.

Default No thanks George

Let me know when the original 3 are sold as a set for $20 and then maybe I'll buy them. Lucas has gotten enough money from me over the last couple of decades. Besides they'll be on TV at least once a month. The prequels stunk.

That's a nice little link. Thanks for posting.

I actually think it will look much much better than that. Maybe at least 4x better?
