The official chronological order jumps around the timeline to the point of confusion?

And I believe episode order is the way to go. Wasn't aware of any other method?

Also, there are 4 unfinished episodes which are considered cannon. You can actually watch them on youtube.
are they on Netflix?

Didn't Disney remove all their stuff from Netflix? Otherwise no idea as I watch all my TV shows (netflix or otherwise) via "alternate" means.

There are actually 8 unfinished eps.

Crystal Crisis On Utapau (4 eps)

Bad Batch (4 eps)

I'll be getting the Clone Wars to watch, at some point. Annoying how it isn't in chronological order though lol

Even though it's now declared non-canon, if you want, also watch the first 21 chapters of the micro-series before the CGI series. Then when you're done with the CGI series, watch the last 4 chapters of the micro-series.

The Clone Wars is on Netflix but it’s cropped to 16:9. Why the hell would they do that?

They’re originally 2.35:1.

Yup -- as someone else mentioned, they were natively produced in 2.35:1, but the early seasons were broadcast in 1.78:1 or 1.85:1 (can't remember which right off the top of my head). Also, the first DVD releases were released in the less-wide aspect ratios, as well. The BDs have always been in the proper 2.35:1 ratio, IIRC.

Honestly the best thing to do is watch the old mini-series and then just watch the Lost Missions of the CG Clone Wars. (Skip the Jar Jar/Mace Windu arc though; I find it amusing but it's the only arc in those Lost Missions that's unnecessary.)

I watched Revenge of the Sith a couple of nights ago - that Blu is still rather impressive from a PQ standpoint. Sharper and detailed than I ever recall it...hands down the most transparent transfer of the boxset.

I can understand wanting to skip Jar Jar content, but arguably there is at least a little value in the arc:
[Show spoiler]It's the final appearance of Talzin outside of comic books, and it helps clarify her power level as it relates to the Jedi and Sith.

Jar Jar/Mace Windu arc has its moments.

The pre CGI cartoons are not canon. No real reason to watch them.

You can watch them because they're entertaining. Really awesome animation and action in the Tartakovsky Clone Wars mini-series, and the storyline in the 2nd season is great. I actually prefer how they depict many of the characters to their counterparts in the films, especially General Grievous. Who cares if they're canon or not

Lost Missions is amazing, I consider it to be episode 2.5 for the amount of loose ends in the prequels which it actually ties up.

As for the aspect ratio I believe that they were framed up to be 16:9 safe with a centre crop of the 2.35, you don't lose any important info.

Just because Disney has recently declared something "non-canon" is no reason to not still enjoy them. For example, I'm going to re-read Timothy Zahn's Heir to the Empire trilogy from time to time, and I'll still be getting an amazing story at the end of the day.

Yeah the "it's not canon" argument doesn't mean shit to me. Those little cartoons are leaps and bounds better than 90%+ of the canon CG show.
