Anakin appearing as Ghost of Humpty Dumpty never made sense at all.

It was the biggest necessay change to the OT.

Frankly, that's meaningless. This is a fan boy site. It has little to do with what the market wants as a whole. Do you really think the market as a whole feels about slipcovers and steelbooks like the people who contribute to this site? This is not the real world. The incidence of OCD in the real world is much lower than it is among people here.<g>

Besides, given the choice, of course you'd want them in. Even I voted to have them in that poll. But that's like asking whether you'd like something priced at $20 or $10. Of course everyone would vote for $10.

Really? Let's say he lived. Don't you think he would have been indicted for numerous murders, war crimes and crimes against "humanity"?

We're talking about Star Wars. It's not a gritty crime drama.

Totally agree.

The change was even more jarring than the Greedo/Han shooting first debacle.

Still think Lucas did this because he has a thing for Hayden.

True ... plus part of his redemption involved his life sacrifice too. So ... his point is irrelevant. Only the Force can judge him now. Which it does by giving him immortality at the end. Thus he is redeemed.

Am I wrong, or are most of the "deleted scenes" already on the DVDs?

So as far as relevant market data goes...

How would we "remember" that? Was any of that in any film? Or mentioned anywhere across any of the six of them?

Yes, it was in AOTC and ROTS. In fact, Yoda pretty much says what OG Pooh said verbatim at the very end of ROTS.

Um, yeah. After deciding what to do with the twins, Yoda informs Ben that Qui-Gon has learned the path to immortality. He tells Ben that he must train & communicate with Qui-Gon while on Tatooine.

Hmmm... my bad. I guess I don't know the prequels (especially ROTS) as well as I thought. I've seen AOTC a lot and I don't remember any of that in there. But I guess it must have been mentioned in ROTS.

The whole "force ghost" thing has been so random, it just hasn't made all that much sense to me. What should have been one of the main points of the prequels sounds like it became a simple throwaway scene at the end of the 3rd one.

So... how did Qui-Gon 'learn' this? And isn't it conceivable that Vader also learned it in the next two decades, given the major hang-up he had about the concept?

See... random. One of my disappointments with the prequels is how little of this was spelled out, given how (thematically) important it seems to be for the "complete saga".

If this was something Vader had learned while alive, he should have disappeared, like Obi-Wan & Yoda did. So in reality, it's not random. The only ones that disappeared upon death were the ones that learned it from Qui-Gon... Ben & Yoda.

As for how Qui-Gon learned it... That wasn't covered to my knowledge.

Agree with you there - it's such a huge thing, and so critical to "the force" in the OT, yet for the most part glazed over in the PT, save for that line by Yoda to Obi-Wan in ROTS, and Yoda hearing Qui-Gonn's yelling "Anakin, Anakin, Nooooooooo!" while meditating in AOTC (when Anakin kills the sandpeople).
