But that comes across like you dont even know why you got the despecialized versions, or that you only did so just because other people have got them. Because i personally know which changes i dont like and why, (which would or should be the same natural mindset for anyone else who wants or owns the UOT. So surely so should you. So you shouldn't need others opinions.

That would be like me saying i know without a shadow of a doubt that i naturally like Chicken Curry and i know the reasons why, but actually to make sure i like it, i need to know why others like it.

He's NOT PLAYING DUMB FOR US, he's literally mentioned Skywalker by name earlier in the film, but he's trying to pull one over on the Emperor. It adds an extra shade to the machinations between the two, I love that Palps says "search your feelings Lord Vader, you will know it to be true" by way of reply, it's one of the few lines in the scene where it feels like a bit of the Emperor's sarcasm is coming through (albeit still delivered in what seems like a drug-induced stupor).

Cloud City needed those windows. Otherwise it's could take place anywhere.

Yes. There are the ones that are visually jarring like the CGI rats and dinosaurs at Mos Eisley and Jedi Rocks which look completely out of place in a late 70s/early 80s movie, and then there are others that go waaaaay too far, like Vader’s “No. NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!” and Hayden Force Ghost. The latest Greedo scene is a toss up because both the original and latest versions look good, so you have to decide which you like better. I prefer the original because that’s how it was intended and it flows better in my opinion. “Yes, I’ll bet you have” and then the mother****er gets blasted. That’s gangsta.

The exterior shots aren’t enough to convince you the city is up amongst the clouds? Now you need windows too? You want to see the beautiful orange and purple sunset, then go outside for a stroll (I think there was a deleted scene with Han & Leia that covered this? (the absence of windows affording the guests a splendid view from the inside).

The only change I’m 100% okay with is the pre-special edition change of “Episode IV - A New Hope” added to the opening crawl.

How about going to the local hospital if you want to experience the original Cloud City?

I do like the additional scene in ep4 with biggs and luke before the trench run. It added depth to their friendship and made biggs death actually matter a little bit more. Almost nothing in ep5 and ep6 were good changes.

It seems I may have been bit too harsh in my assessment of the 4K remasters on Disney+. I was surprised to see some more generally positive reviews which prompted me to give them another look. And viewing them again in 4K on an Apple TV, they still looked pretty bad. But then I decided to try my other streaming devices. Disney+ doesn't seem to support 4K on the PS4 Pro yet? And my Nvidia Shield TV would only play these in 4K with HDR10, but they actually look better streaming on the Shield TV. The issues I noticed were still there (DNR, edge enhancement, frozen grain in backgrounds), but it was on the whole a more consistent and even satisfying presentation than what I got from my Apple TV. And that's why I continue to support physical media. Cuz streaming is wack. Who knows, with a higher bitrate and better encoding, maybe these can look passable on a physical 4K release?

"I read there's an interpretation that it means, 'ma-dong-key'. 'My donkey', I think, is another reference to the horse waiting outside the Cantina that Greedo was in."

That is hilarious. After Greedo realized that his fate was sealed, the last thing to pass through his mind was the plight of his donkey tied up outside the cantina after he is gone. What's going to happen to his trusty steed? "Maclunkey!"

Since Sebulba’s line in The Phantom Menace sounds like “Macalunky” and it means “This will be the end of you,” maybe Greedo’s line is “Mac’lunky,” a contraction meaning “This’ll be the end of you.” George had to shorten the sentence to fit the length of Greedo’s close-up shot.

Not a fan of the special editions but that is one scene I actually really liked.

I rewatched Attack of the Clones and I actually like it now. The plot is much more interesting than The Phantom Menace and dare I say it, the acting is better (actually, this probably isn’t a controversial statement). Even though some of it is pretty awkward, at least you can sense emotions in the characters, whereas a huge amount of the acting in The Phantom Menace is wooden and hollow, like the actors are literally just reciting their lines without even trying to convey any emotions. It’s not all like that but there’s enough of it to be distracting. I can’t really blame any of the “bad” acting in Clones since it would be tough for anyone to say some of those lines. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the movie this time. I used to consider it the worst of the prequels but I enjoyed the entire movie from start to finish.

The film sucks but I do like the moody opening with the chrome ship coming in to land on the platform.

I still say that Clones works better with the sound off. The fireside scene with Ani and Padme is just so, SO awful with the dialogue but mute those mofos and you can really see the emotion there, it's like watching a silent movie and the production design also sells the visual aspects of it, like the 'choker' dress design that Padme's wearing which all too easily foreshadows her fate.

Muting it would lose Across the Stars though. One of the best pieces of music Williams has ever composed for Star Wars.

I find myself liking II and III less and less as time goes on, and I blame a lot of that on Christensen. Phantom Menace is still easily my favorite of the Prequels and one of my favorites of the entire franchise. Just one of those weird situations where the things that most people hate happen to be things that don't bother me or that I outright enjoy.
