I always liked Jar Jar's character, my daughter loves Jar Jar's character. Besides, he brought the Naboo and the Gungans together as allies. Then he called for a vote to give Chancellor Palpatine his emergency powers as he was fooled along with everyone else by Palpy's scheming.

That's the soultion then... One could fall to the dark side, slay Jar-Jar then redeem him/herself. No, wait... Forget the herself part. Girls love Jar-Jar Binks.

Honestly, I didn't mind Jar-Jar too much at first. After the Ewoks, something like Jar-Jar was expected (not welcomed but expected). I watched TPM last week, and found myself wanting to choke him to death through the screen. I'm not 6-years old, and this brand of goofy slapstick is severely out of place, just as it was in Jabba's Palace.

I think the thing that bothers me worse than anything in any of the movies, is the little one liners C3PO says near the end of AOTC. "Oh, I'm quite beside my self, This is such a drag" ...etc.

God, I hated Jar Jar. I recently watched The Phantom Menace on Spike and I feel the same way about him that I did back in the theaters. As far as I'm concerned, he is the one major flaw of the movie. His character is supposed to be comedy relief, but he just comes off as so damn annoying with the way he talks and acts that it makes you want to fast forward any scene he's in. Thankfully, Lucas actually listened to the fans for a change and made Jar Jar practically an extra in the following films.

Sometimes I wonder if Lucas deliberately made Jar Jar responsible for giving Palpatine "Emergency Power" because of all the hate for him.
