Well, it doesn't necessarily mean an alcoholic drink. After all, it's a galaxy far, far away.

I see that the "I HATE JAR JAR" band wagon as been busy in the last few pages, been a while since we had the wonderful chance to hear how he is so horrible.

Jar Jar never bothered me much. I see him as a young Woody Allen let loose in the Star Wars galaxy. I suspect Lucas saw Sleepers or Bananas and created Jar Jar after that. The way Jar Jar act's in the battle scene in The Phatom Menace is almost an exact replica of the battle scene in Love & Death. What bother's me the most is that Lucas gave in to the talk and sort of made him disapeared after the first movie. It did not matter my poor George, they would have hated you no matter what!

What I don't quite get is how the worst movie is always The Phantom Menace and not Return Of The Jedi. In Empire Strikes Back we get the greatest movie in Star Wars, an amazing opening battle, none stop chassing, great characters, one incredible confrontation between Luke & Vader. Then we have to wait three years in a time with no Internet, no so call journalist twitting every 5 minutes, no rumors of any kind about what is happening, no available trailer to be seen on our computers since we had no computers anyway. What do we get after three years of waiting? A musical number in Jabba's palace and a bunch of teddy bears running around the forest. Yeah!! I can sure see how The Phantom Menace is the worst Star Wars movie Good thing we did have a good finish with a great space battle and a amazing stand off between Luke, Vader & the emperor.

I sometime suspect that a lot of people hate Jar Jar because they see too much of who they are in him. Someone who tries but is clumsy and fail but keep's on going anyway. Jar Jar is showing the kids that keep on trying and be yourself and don't worry too much about what others will say about you because they will say it no matter what.

Yeah, silly people. just what we all want, see through ships, blue screen halos around ships in space, why would anyone want inferior crap?

remember Lucas has already said, what he unwillingly gave you folks what you wanted in those 2 disc Original DVDs unrestored non anamorphic versions.

and that is all you will ever get in reference to the "originals"

get over it.

Default What a DEAL !!?!!

Forgive me if someone else posted this already, but, I don't have the time to read through 345(currently) pages of posts.
Anyway, if anyone is like me and is wanting to purchase the entire film set- not for the prequels, but to have all of the extra content; then you can preorder the entire set on Amazon for only $90. !!!
Beats any other price I have seen. In fact I preordered based solely on the price. The entire 6- film, 9- disc set is $89.99 on blu ray from Amazon.
Where everywhere else I have seen is at least $140.00.
Check it out.

Yep - I actually liked 3PO's character and then they suddenly decided in TESB to make him an obnoxious boob. As annoying as Jar Jar can be and how badly haters of the PT piss and moan about him - 3PO is almost just as absurd.

Robot walking and talking in a strange manner > more believable than Jar Jar Binks.

C-3PO was always an obnoxious boob. A lot of people hated him as much as Jar Jar in the original trilogy.

It's all Jar Jar's fault!

Why all the hate for Jar Jar? Hate leads to suffering, suffering leads to the Dark Side.

To be honest, Jar Jar bugged the hell out of me when TPM first came out, but he's kinda grown on me.
I have no problem with Jar Jar being there for kids, and that the kids love him. My problem with Jar Jar is that he's annoying.

I didn't find C-3P0 annoying as a kid; maybe adults did.

Cycle repeats.

When my kids are 25, maybe there'll be a new Star Wars with an annoying character that they'll hate, even though they love Jar Jar.

Actually, it makes sense to me in a way. Only Jedi can attain the mastery to, for a limited time, keep their 'self' in the force after passing away. So, I think it makes sense to show Anakin as he was when he was still a Jedi. He died a Sith, but now lives on in the Force as a Jedi, together with Yoda and Obi-Wan. At least, that's how I've interpreted it so far.

The only reason I prefer C-3P0 over Jar Jar is that in the Empire Strikes Back, the stormtroopers shot his dumb ass.

This is a completely asinine statement, and that's quite a feat given that this thread is basically 3 or 4 different people saying nonsensical things over and over and over again.

Sadly welcome to the internet. Where the negatives always outweigh the positives. Happens no matter where you are.

Mostly because people who are happy and enjoying what they're getting tend not to have to tell people about it.

Where as those who are disgruntled or angry about something feel the need to tell everyone about it.

I don't recall when I signed up for this forum that only positive comments were permitted.

Also, let's end the hyperbole - there are plenty of positive comments here about the movies and the BD releases.

Just as some people like to come here and vent, others like to come here solely to egg them on.

I don't think there is much doubt that we all enjoy these movies (even those who claim to hate this trilogy or that one). It is just more fun to discuss what we all don't agree upon in comparrison to what we do. Besides, we all think the blu rays will be killer and until they announce more 'specs' we are only going to be able to discuss what we like/don't like about the saga.

So, Mesa be thinkin we gots us probably like muy muy months of the all de important Jar Jar vs. C-3P0 debate.

This list sounds like a fanboy's wet dream(myself included). While I'd love to see all this stuff I won't believe it until there's actual confirmation from LFL.
