Sorry I didn't want to wade through all the pointless OT talk, and Qui Gon stuff, but did anyone else get an email from Amazon confirming that the item will arrive on release day September 27, 2011?

According to the-numbers.com (Transformers & Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen) Revenge of the Fallen had just under 60% of the sales of the original. Even the people who made money off the movie would consider that a failure.

With the news just coming out today that Liam Neeson will be reprising his role as Qui-Gon in The Clone Wars cartoon, I can't help but think that Lucas may have gotten Neeson to also do a little shooting for either Episode II or Episode III to insert scenes that were unfilmed due to scheduling conflicts.

$836 million worldwide gross is a failure? Seems like one hell of a successful failure to me (24th highest grossing movie of all time). Sorry I didn't follow your link. I just found that amount through some google searching and it popped up on a number of websites. Also, the Twilight movies are all in the top 50 highest grossing movies of all time. (Just saying)

My point is that there are two things that shouldn't really be factored into calling something 'good' or 'bad', and that's critics reviews (more of a guide than a statistic) and the box office amounts.

As I've previously said, George Lucas could slap the Star Wars name on anything and at least make his money back with a small profit. That doesn't make it good.

That was my thought this morning too.

I'm not sure why you quoted me and then made this statement. I agree that Yoda instructed Obi-wan at some point during his training. My point is that it wasn't necessary for Obi-Wan to relay the complete history of his training to Luke while Luke is freezing to death in the snow.

That would be fantastic! It would certainly add some much needed substance to Ep II.

So would the added footage be him teaching Yoda how to come back after death in spirit form?

I thought some voice work was actually already done for either AOTC or ROTS, but Lucas didn't decide to include it for whatever reason.

Totally agree with this. Box office success doesnt translate into anything except for profits. And, it happens a lot where critics like a film and many of us hate it and critics hate a filmand many of us love it.

There is no way in hell Lucas didn't get Liam Neeson to do the scripted lines from Episode III, while doing these episodes for the Clone Wars.

Maybe the first real clue that George has done some tinkering to the Prequels...more than we thought.

Not getting my hopes up but Liam Neeson's playing Qui Gon in the animated series.

This is kind of huge...

Wouldn't the CGI Yoda for E1 from the Star Wars Concert be the first real clue?

Beast,

Well, that's been known for a while. We've had no other clues since, except for the shots of a remaster Episode I image.

No freaking way Lucas didn't get Liam to do those lines. Via the script, it was only voice over work acting against a digital character. This is simply a drag and drop move for ILM to extended that sequence for a minute or two.

Here's the sequence:

On the isolated asteroid of Polis Massa, YODA meditates.

YODA: Failed to stop the Sith Lord, I have. Still much to learn, there is ...

QUI -GON: (V.O.) Patience. You will have time. I did not. When I became one with the Force I made a great discovery. With my training, you will be able to merge with the Force at will. Your physical self will fade away, but you will still retain your consciousness. You will become more powerful than any Sith.

YODA: Eternal consciousness.

QUI-GON: (V.O.) The ability to defy oblivion can be achieved, but only for oneself. It was accomplished by a Shaman of the Whills. It is a state acquired through compassion, not greed.

YODA: . . . to become one with the Force, and influence still have . . . A power greater than all, it is.

QUI-GON: (V.O.) You will learn to let go of everything. No attachment, no thought of self. No physical self.

YODA: A great Jedi Master, you have become, Qui-Gon Jinn. Your apprentice I gratefully become.

YODA thinks about this for a minute, then BAIL ORGANA enters the room and breaks his meditation.

BAIL ORGANA: Excuse me, Master Yoda. Obi-Wan Kenobi has made contact.

Neeson's voice we hear in AOTC was taken from TPM. He was supposed to be involved in ROTS in some form, but was in a motorcycle accident the same time ROTS went into production, so the scenes involving him were changed.

Funny enough, and the reason I don't watch Clone Wars, is that clip screws with continuity.

Obi-Wan doesn't know about Qui-Gon until the end of Episode III.

It depends on how Obi-Wan treats the appearance of Qui-Gon.

Obi-Wan appears to be meditating in one of the Jedi lightsaber crystal caves.

He may assume it was just a vision due to the force from his meditation. Not Qui-Gon retaining his individuality in the force.

Plus his surprise in E3 could also be attributed to the fact that Yoda's been visited by Qui-Gon also.

Clone Wars is pretty good with continuty. Like not having Anakin actually meet Grevious until Episode 3.
