Yeah, that's what Lucas does, sits around cutting trailers all day and personally supervising their release.

And yet another post that can be filed under "completely missing the point".

Maybe because I have a life I'm not sure what you're getting at but it was a ridiculous dig at Lucas in the first place. The official or fan made trailers aren't going to convince anyone to buy the set. They make you aware the films are coming to Blu-ray and that's it. You either want to buy them when they come out or you don't. Certainly nobody in this thread can pretend to not know that they were coming.

Also: did the "fan" trailer give you an idea what the official transfer was going to look like? What sound format? What extras? So somebody cut a bunch of footage together that was more appealing to you. But it didn't do something: it didn't tell us a darn thing what we already didn't know.

Get the point?

That, and it sucked. Trite, obvious editing with little imagination, merely aping the style of the prequel trailers and doing a ham-fisted job of it.

Count me in as loving the trailer as well. It made me even more excited for the set. I even posted it on my Facebook page.

USA Important release

For me personally this may be the most important set of blu-rays released. Growing up, I watched the classic trilogy so many times I lost count. I'm so excited for this set. I will definitely purchase this set the day it comes out. I haven't pre-ordered trough Amazon because I'm curious whether there will be exclusives offered through Best Buy or any other companies. No matter, this is an important release for blu-ray. If people don't get on board with blu after seeing this release then I really don't know what they are waiting for.

Dood Neither did Lucasarts trailer, it wasn't using the new features, didn't give any hints as to what was to come aside from the fact it said the complete saga in it. And the Lucasarts trailer sure as hell wasn't using the new transfer because if it did then we have problems, go look at the reds again when the X-Wings are attacking the Deathstar, the look at the pixilation in the millennium falcon at the beginning of the trailer. I can find a lot of things wrong with his trailer if I cared to look. In my opinion what they released was crap compared to what a "fan" did in his basement. I am entitled to my opinion on these forums just as you are entitled to yours. In my opinion I found the fan trailer to be a more true representation of what this release is about.

I agree with you. Star Wars is my thing. Once I have these in-hand on blu-ray I can pretty much chalk my life up as a total success.

As for people not into blu-ray: If they arent in it yet I doubt anything will get them "in". They are probably still angry HD-DVD supporters or something.

lets hope Hayden will be in the unmasking of Vader in ROTJ?
also CGI Yoda in TPM?

I would also lke to see the Sith droid scene in the TPM reinstated. This was in the deleted scenes extras and i feel this was an intricate part of the story as it confirms Qui Gons suspicions.

these would polish off and link them once and for all.

I'm pretty sure Yoda has been CGI'd for TPM, as footage surfaced at the Star Wars concert.

As watzcoc said, placing Hayden under the mask in RotJ would resolve a lot of issues. Who appears as the spirit at the end of the film would no longer be open for debate (although the age at which he appears would). It would also help to unify the two trilogies and bring more uniformity to the character.

I'm cool with Yoda being CGI'd, but I think the original acting needs to stay. Regardless of the fact that there's a different actor playing Anakin at that point - who really cares? We all know who he is, and so does anybody watching the films for the first time these days (I haven't heard any confusion over the matter).

That sort of change isn't cool - it's pretty disrespectful to the original actor imho. And the dead in RotJ was a far better Anakin than Christensen was anyways.

There's no reason to use Hayden for the unmasking, just the ghost was all that needed changed.

I didn't say I liked the idea. I said it would clear up issues.

Face it, this saga is such a mess in so many areas, I doub't it will ever get straightened out. Plot holes, character development, lines that contradict other elements, etc, etc.

The ghost didn't need to be changed. I don't think it matters either way, as both versions have valid reasoning.

They already changed Sebastian Shaw's eye colour and worked on his scarring to match it up to Hayden's for the 2004 DVD release. I didn't have a problem with that but I think that's more than enough changes for that scene. Vader's old and been living in the suit longer than out of it. Sebastian Shaw did a fine job and Vader's supposed to be 35 years older than when we see him in ROTS so he shouldn't look like Christensen.

That's my 2 cents on the matter.

I don't think it's that big of a deal, plus Beast seems to have provided reasonable logic for many people's so-called loopholes. They're just movies imo, but I still like to keep the original source intact.
