I'm guessing they will be a lot more noticeable on BD. That is my fear anyway. Especially for Jabba. Lucas may fix some of the issues or he may just throw whatever they have at us later in the year, keep working on them, then sell us another set if the world doesn't end in 2012.

As far as the whole puppets & teddy bears go... They are the main reasons why Jedi is my second least favorite film in the series. The other reason being the childish feel of the film as a whole... Mainly the out of place & unnecessary slapstick comedy (especially in Jabba's Palace & on Endor). If it weren't for the awesome sequences with Luke, Vader & the Emperor aboard the second Death Star, it would be my least favorite.

So in other words it will take long long long long time probably 15 to 20 years.Has the studio would have to edit every episode and do every special effect.
Unfortunately, as I understand it, this was common practice on TV shows during the eighties and nineties. The X-Files is my favorite TV series, but I'm pretty much happy with my DVD set (except for Season 2, which for some reason is a lot blurrier looking than the others)

But anyway, so, hey, Star Wars on Blu-Ray. Yay! (not really for me).

It's TNG (like The X-Files) and the spinoffs that were shot 35MM then edited and composited on NTSC resolution digital videotape.
Can you explain this better. Also what is FX ?

May be the modorator should split the part on x-files and star trek ( to own thread ) has this is off topic of the thread here on star wars.

TNG = Star Trek: The Next Generation.

FX = Visual effects (model work, CGI etc)

And last bit of off-topic info, but only seasons 1-4 of The X-Files were edited on tape. From what I've read when they made the switch to widescreen they also changed the editing method.

And now: back to our scheduled discussion...

As posted earlier there's a forum on Amazon on The X Files. Join in there.

USA Star Wars extended scenes

I wonder what the extended scenes will be cause i remember there being a few in the prequel trilogy like:

In Episode 1 when jinn fights maul there was a part of the scene taken out.

In Episode 2 when dooku fights yoda there was a scene where dooku uses 2 lightsabers to fight yoda.

In Episode 3 there was a scene clipped out at the beginning when dooku fights anakin and obi-wan i read it in the novel and it was seen during the start menu of the video game it is a scene that happens right after they all ignite their sabers dooku says "DON'T THINK THAT BECAUSE THERE ARE TWO OF YOU THAT YOU HAVE THE ADVANTAGE."

Also there was a scene clipped out where yoda manages to disarm sidious i hope we get to see these also i wonder if there similar scenes for the OT??

If there is a 3d version of each movie than don't expect a totally new blu ray set for it what we will get in september is the final release of these movies lucas is done with this particular saga and now will focus on a new trilogy which will either take place before ep1 or after ep6 stop worrying about the ORIGINAL trilogy it will never happen this lucas's vision end of story

I think the September set will be followed by 3D versions as well as a 3D set after the final film has been released in theatres. I still think we will see the original theatricals released at some point in time the audience for them is huge and it would make good business sense to have them restored and released at some point. Remember GL said the theatricals would never be released on DVD and they were....

Personally, I think a quick flight would have looked better than balancing himself on one leg.

I simply pointed out that it would be easy enough to rectify them for the BD release.
It would not be easy to rectify for the Blu ray release, nor would GL do so as R2 DOES NOT FLY DUE TO BAD CIRCUITRY!!! Why wont you accept this.

The OT is set in a time where the rebellion has to do with what they can find, thats why there are so many scenes where things are constantly being fixed. Its common sense and saying other wise is just plain ignorant. Any Star Wars fan should know this and its also been said by GL himself that the OT was supposed to be in a used universe where the Empire rules with an iron fist. This means that life is hard, hence the equipment the rebels have, old and battered and always under repair.

This guy just doesn't listen?

Sometimes I get the feeling that people want the films to pause, and for the characters to start monologuing about who they are, and explain their whole histories on camera. I have never seen a film series where fans took issue with every detail that isn't spelled out to them in agonizing detail on film.

We don't see every moment of these characters lives. And there's large spans of time between some of the chapters.

Like the 10 years between TPM and AotC. Or the 20 years betwee RotS and ANH. Or the 3 years betwee ANH and ESB.

The reason they don't explain everything is, uh, well - during the three years between ANH and ESB, well Luke was "with" Leia. And afterwards there were some crazy stories about parties on the Falcon... someone (EDIT - Chewbaca) reportedly retrofitted a holgraphic camera into R2D2 to upload the videos to Felucia.net and in the process broke his rockets so he had to walk EVERYWHERE - cmon guys - this is just not family friendly stuff here.

Thankfully even the EU hasn't ever gotten quite that bad. Not that it's all that good either.

I think there's a slight difference between suspension of disbelief, filling in the blanks yourself and gigantic cock-ups. I'm happy to go with the flow with most things Star Wars but things can be slightly irksome. R2's rockets aren't one of them.

One thing has always stirred my curiosity is that Clone Troopers pilot early X-Wing models the Jedi's early Tie-Fighters. Why did the Emperor change to Ties? You would have thought the Rebillion would have salvaged the Separatist fleet and the fighters that pilots could fit in.

One could guess that the guy who built TIEs remained loyal to the emperor and the guy who built X-wings had rebel sympathies.

That's pretty much what happened according to the EU.

When the Emperor took power, basically even independant corporations were "Imperialized", and oversaw by the Galactic Empire. Most of The Incom Coroporation took issue with this and defected, offering both the blueprints and the stock on hand to the Rebel Alliance. The Imperials arrested everyone and sentanced them to the Spice Mines of Kessel. But they were liberated and brought into the Alliance.

See, sometimes you miss out by not digging into the EU. He still managed to build new X-Wings though or did the OT ones pre-date the PT ones?
