Anyone ever seen http://starwarz.com/deletedmagic/ ?

It'd be nice if they released some of these fan made movies as part of the box set.

Cool, thanks for the DVR alert. They also are having all of Band of Brothers one after another tomorrow.

Curious: which discs? (Please don't say Forrest Gump: the extra surround derived from Pro-Logic wasn't intended by the director/mixers).

I found that PCM LD audio was good...for stereo. 5.1 Dolby Digital may be lossy but when you take into account that Pro-Logic has to extract in phase/out of phase information, mono & bandwidth limited surrounds, that (to me and a lot of others) was a better sounding solution.

- Yes, some things only came out on LD (unedited Star Wars for example)
- And frankly I prefer the packaging - especially the Criterion releases. Put's Blu to shame.

In any case, please continue basking in your AV superiority
um, the unedited Star Wars did come out on DVD:

http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Epis...5186829&sr=1-5

I realize that is a full screen version, but I was lazy and that was the first link I found.

Spike HD is showing all 6 movies in a row tomorrow in HD. I would DVR them all but the commercial breaks suck.

The WS version are in gold trim vs blue. I bought all 6 individually. Think they came out in 2006. They have both versions and look as good as any DVD you will see.

And yet, the only HD version for who knows how long. Keep an eye on Encore, someone posted they had at least 1 on in OAR.

Well my shining example would be Stop Making Sense. I started a thread on it and the majority of posters thought I was insane. But I know what sounds better to my ears, and I find the stereo mix on LD to be better than the stereo mix on Blu.

It's the non-anamorphic that killed those.

If they had been, there would have been a tremendously different reaction.

More pointless opinion threads again.

What was more annoying? old nerds dissing the prequels or the young kids trashing the old films?

Thank **** I love all 6 films. I win more.

Come on I wanna here some older fans whine n whine about Georgy boy changing stuff with new releases.

I'm with you bogo, I like all 6 of them, they are different yes, but they were made in different times and all told the story properly!

Looks we both win

Can't wait to have this on blu and get to see Anakin go crazy in Hi-Def!

I agree. No one could expect movies that were made as long as 22 years apart to look and feel the same, and that wasn't the intention either, as the PT takes place in an era before the Clone Wars, when there was still peace and justice in the Galaxies.

I love them all too!

And here is that great 1976 trailer-

Wow! This trailer was AWFUL! Thanks for posting! It must have been word of mouth that saved the movie from total failure at the box office.

Exactly... besides, if Lucas wanted them to look and feel the same, he would have... the technology to make something seem old is easy!

I too love all 6. They combine to make the greatest saga ever! Is there some stuff I could do without in the prequels, sure. Is there some stuff I could without in the re-vised original trilogy, sure. Do these things diminish my love for Star Wars, Nope. Yes, it would be cool if George finally released an anamorphic widescreen version of the OT with a good sound mix and re-mastered PQ so everyone could also own those versions we grew up with but if he never does then he never does.
