At least attempt to find out the facts before you sling around the Lucas bashing. It's just old.
The Lucas supporting, however, is fresh and exciting!

It's different, it's a minority compare to those who just follow the crowd to bash

Maybe the minority is in the minority just to be in the minority.

To be fair, I could go on for pages of things I don't like in the films either. But in the end they're Lucas' films, not mine.

For example... my biggest issue being the reduced role for Jar Jar Binks in E2 and E3, knuckling under to angry fanboy rants.

Lucas introduced such a great character in TPM, I would have liked to have seen more of his journey. At least we got the most important aspects in TPM and AotC. Though the cut Rebellion Formation scene would have been welcome for RotS. At least we hear him at the end of Return of the Jedi.

I think I just suffered an aneurism. I'm fine with Jar Jar. In fact I have an adorable Applause softtoy hanging above my monitor but that's the best place for him. Hanging....

But it must have been hard work been in TPM when you're the only funny guy versus all those straight men. I don't think he had much of a journey after TPM and he should have died of dehydration on Tatooine.

Well, yeah, basically.

I don't think Lucas in holding back the unaltered trilogy to be mean per se but his reasons essentially boil down to 'I don't want to'.

That said, there have been signs his attitude toward the original cuts has been thawing somewhat so who knows what the future might bring.

Whether or not one likes Jar-Jar in TPM, he was a strictly comic character who was best suited for the kid-friend episode 1. He would have been out of place in the darker, more serious tone of episodes 2 and 3.

Also, he is, at best, a fairly minor character after Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padme, Palpatine and Yoda. By the end of episode 2, even Jango Fett is more critical to the narrative than Jar-Jar at that point. There was just no room to tell his story unless they wanted to go the Peter Jackson route and release extended editions on DVD.

He did give in to angry so called FANS but if you notice he puts the blame for what happened to the republic on jar jar let me explain:

In Ep2 jar jar is the one who convinces the senate to give emergency powers to palpatine allowing palpatine to stay longer than he needed to and that also gave him control of the clone army to which he then went back and forth with dooku fighting their sham set up of a war thus weakening the jedi cause of jar jar he had a whole armada of clones to protect him something he would not have had if jar jar had not been stupid.

Q: "Hey Jeff, is there any rumors/info on what audio codec will be used on the Star Wars blu-ray set, and if it's 5.1 or 7.1?
Thanks!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A: "No, and it doesn't matter what codec they use

I expect they'll go with DTS, unless Lucasfilm is given a really good reason to demand THD.

They'll all probably be 6.1 (EX channel made discrete)"

This is great because my favorite cotex is DTS Master Audio. No one believes me, but I hear a difference between DTS Master Audio and Dolby True HD.

Since there's only a couple movies with the exact same master with both codecs on the disc I'm curious how you come to that conclusion.

I listened to RoboCop in DTS-MA and then Iron Man in TrueHD. RoboCop souded like kids playing cops and robbers in comparison.

Before you say "unfair", well one is DTS-MA, one is TrueHD, so by your standards the DTS one should sound better, yes?

I would LOVE a series of expanded universe books that deal with Darth Plagueis and Palpatine's apprenticeship. There was an announcement a while back, but the book got cancelled...

It's likely Lucas is going to make them leave the details of Palpatine's history as mysterious as Yoda.
