Excellent article. I thought George had input on the dvd release, but others were so certain that he didn't that I believed them. Ugh, kickin' myself now. Guy also raises the same question I did about the people Lucas has surrounded himself with (guys that do not question him when they REALLY should). Nice find.

I'm sure the proof will be ignored, and the "he had no input in the dvd release" statements will continue.

By the way, that link/article makes me sad that someone has that much time or cares that much to devote to this issue. lol

I took the time to read the article and I'm slighty worried about how the OT's might turn out, especially if the grain is removed I don't want Star Wars to look like Predator (it will be a FOX release after all). It's quite possible that Lucas will want a uniformity of picture throughout the six films and while TPM is quite grainy Episodes II and III are more artifical looking filmwise due to their digital origins. Or he may introduce grain to give them a more filmic look.

I'm also concerned that if the transfers are taken from the 2004 scans then surely the detail that was taken out by the redtoration is now lost forever? These are day one purchases for me and I hope I won't be let down.

Not sure if this has been brought up yet but I just noticed on Amazon that the aspect ratio for the Star Wars BD set is 1.33:1. I really hope that is a typo.

Unless George is going old school remember the OT weren't anamorphic lol.... Amazon are notoriously unreliable on technical specifications.

It was George's original vision, and that's how he wants his Saga to be seen and remembered.

I was waiting to get the Complete Saga in my Goldbox.

Don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but I just watched Jambe Davdar's entire Star Wars Begins trilogy (SWB, Building Empire and Returning to Jedi), and man, I wish this was a part of the box set we're getting this fall!

Funny as heck, but next thing you know some website will pick that up and start posting it haha.

There is no doubt these will be in OAR, 2.35...Lucas was releasing OAR way back in the VHS days, so there is no doubt he will continue.
