If you seriously can't differentiate between self defense and murder, no one here will be able to help you.

How would destroying the Emperor not be self defense? He was his prisoner and the Emperor intended on killing him and destroying the entire Alliance as well as whole planets.

Besides, the stormtroopers all take orders from Palpatine so technically it's more ethical to take out the guy who's truly evil and not just obeying orders.

Self defence is when you remember to put the smoking gun in the hand of the guy you just shot, murder is when it slips your mind....

On thing with the PT is the balance of the Force, it must have been seriously on the happy side if the galaxy needs to go to war, the Jedi need to be wiped out and some nutter goes on a Youngling killing spree... for twenty years before throwing some dude down a reactor shaft. Bringing it all back into balance....

With the plot holes, limited back stories on some characters, and sometimes unexplained motivations - you can imagine how hard it is to explain to a 7 year old who I've decided isn't old enough to watch the movies or the TV show (Clone Wars not the holiday special). They all have the toys and know a lot from talking to other friends at school, especially older kids who have seen some of the movies or the show, but they are always asking questions like, "Why is the emperor evil? Was he evil when he was a child? Did he kill people? What kind of ship did XYZ have? etc etc etc). Sometimes I just have to say, "I don't know because I didn't see it in the movies" and remind them it is a story. Interesting that a whole back story/universe has been written to answer the questions - which mainly serves to prop up the movies...

Interesting. When I was a kid, the Emperor was evil simply because he was a "bad guy" like the bad guys in every other movie or TV show.

I hardly know anything about them.
The 9th disc will have a special mini movie called Jar Jar's big adventure.
Where he has to go on a mission to save Boss Nass who has gone missing, it will take him to new worlds in the Star Wars universe that we have not seen in the movies.
The reason this is only for those who order The Complete Saga is cause only true fans like all 6 movies and only true fans like Jar Jar.

Well, I am a true fan. I grew up with Star Wars and I even had Star Wars bed sheets. That is why I am thrilled that The Complete Saga will have hours and hours of supplemental material. I even had a C3PO tooth brush!

I just hope that Star Wars: The Complete Sage is indeed complete. I say this because the so-called Shrek: the Whole Story was not the whole story. Several shorts were missing from the set including the much desired Shrek The Halls.

Shrek's missing shorts are unforgivable!

I just hope George Lucas doesn't leave anything off The Complete Saga. Even Star Wars: The Ewok Adventure (from 1984) should be included on this set.

If only. Because Jar Jar is awesome. I'm hoping for a few more Jar Jar Clone Wars episodes also.

Trust me Lucas has something special up his sleeve for the 9th disc i look at it as him saying thank you to those that like his vision and all 6 movies he won't leave us hanging trust me.

I have a feeling the anticipation for announcement of what's on the 9th disc will build up almost as much as the release of the actual movies.

This is a basic premise. It would feel so pedantic to break out the dictionary definition. Still, even so that remark was more based around the stormtroopers/biker scouts on Endor and Jabba's goons.

Attacking the Emperor when he was smirking in Luke's face was a trap, as he showed a few seconds later when he blasts Luke with the lightning. Luke had no clue and not a snowball's chance in Tattooine, and was completely outmatched. Playing the Emperor at his own game was a fool's chance, as Luke couldn't win that way.

Here he is in Dragonslayer (37 years old):

That has to be one of the BIGGEST strokes of genius that George made, is when he picked him to play the Emperor at that age.

As long as they include a scene in Episode III with a close-up of Mace's lightsaber, showing" BMF" engraved in it, I will be happy I always felt Mace would have won if his character was portrayed as Jules Winnfield

Out of all of Jackson's roles, Mace Windu is probably the most dull and lacking personality. Makes me think why they approached him in the first place...

I might not be remembering correctly, but I think I heard that he actually begged to be in the movie.

Correct. He's a huge Star Wars fan, and wanted to be in the movie. And then pushed for a purple saber and a badass death.

Hopefully the 9-disc version comes with Jar Jar's commentary over each film.

Since Lucas refocused the film on Anakin, he had to sacrifice certain extraneous plot points relating to Attack of the Clones. Lucas had previously promised fans that he would explain the mystery behind the erasure of the planet Kamino from the Jedi Archives.[14] However, Lucas abandoned this plot thread in order to devote more time to Anakin's story, creating an unresolved plot hole in the process. As a compromise, Lucas permitted author James Luceno to explain the mystery of Kamino's erasure and the origins of the Clone army in his novel Labyrinth of Evil.
I just assumed these doings were a collaborative effort from Dooku and Sidious/Palpatine. So this was never bothersome to me, IMO.

Quote:
Lucas had originally planned to include even more ties to the original trilogy. Lucas wrote early drafts of the script in which a 10-year-old Han Solo appeared on Kashyyyk, but the role was not cast or shot. He also wrote a scene in which Palpatine reveals to Anakin that he created him from midichlorians, and is thus his "father," a clear parallel to Vader's revelation to Luke in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, but Lucas tossed this scene as well.
The Han bit would have been really stupid. Would have felt like out of place fan service. As for the latter, it would have been interesting, but I kind of liked the ambiguity of the whole thing. Gave us fans something to ponder about while Palpatine was talking to Anakin at the opera.
