I saw the red letter media reviews of the prequels and to me they are not fun to read it's just more prequel bashing in those reviews. All like all 6 star wars films and I consider them a saga of films and not 2 separate trilogy's.

Just enjoy star wars without complaining about the prequels and the changes to the original trilogy for the special edition's.

Both quoted for truth. I enjoy the prequels (not as much as the original trilogy) and the bashing is a pain in the neck. I'm still in the camp that the 97/04/11(?) changes do nothing to change or ruin the films. A few maybe a bit wonky, but they are classics and I love all of them.

I gave the RLM review for AOTC a chance. At least, part one.

I don't particularly care for his monotone voice or some of the jokes I saw, like the girls saying "That's what she said!"

He makes some valid points, and from that first part, he didn't complain about effects or make any superficial statements (in the part I watched), but gave opinions on why he found it hard to relate to the characters and the story. And that I can respect. If someone can actually give a detailed reason why they do or don't like something, I see through.

I also agree with his point on having a protagonist. Basically, in storytelling terms, a protagonist is that character that connects with the audience. The audience follows this character because he/she knows just about as much as they do, so it is like we are on the same journey. It is also somebody the audience can relate to. Luke served as this role in the original films. He was the farm boy who wanted to leave his boring life and do something. Who can't relate to that? Problem is, if the protagonist keeps asking questions about things, the story goes nowhere. I think Anakin is intended to be the character who the audience is supposed to relate to and perhaps some people do. I don't at all.

But I don't see the point of watching another 30 minutes of his review. It's nothing that I personally haven't said before. So while I agree with his commentary, it clearly only exists to feed on the prequel hate. That's about it. About as pointless as that video where the angry video game guy rags on the third Ninja Turtles film.

I don't want to twist this into critic hate, but I don't see the point in reviewing a movie that has been out for almost 10 years.

It probably will be a part of the set. Until LFL comes out with a full press release of what is included , tech specs and the extras on the 3 extra discs. We will probably know what is on the set until either May at comic-con or in June.

what sort of idiot are you? Empire is one of the best movies ever made, also its the best out of the star wars legacy.

Saying Empire is boring is just plain silly, you either are not a true fan or just plan ignorant.

You realy need to wake up.

The thing with Star Wars is you need to watch them from Ep1-6 to fully understand and enjoy them.

In fact it is one big film/story.

Yes we have favourates, yes we have issues with some of them but they are one big story, there are story arcs which when studied afterwards makes sense.

Now the so called "FANS" who says the OT is best are complete idiots! the original cuts were good in their day but need tweeking to keep up with the prequels. I prefer the special editions because they do add something to the whole saga.

It is clear the special editions bury the original cuts, so FANS, stop whining and get on with it, if you want the originals so much buy them on DVD, they are avaialble from Play.com individulaly.

Any Star Wars fan should be happy with the final outcome and with Blu Ray around the corner they will be mind blowing once again.

Just imagine the opening sequence of A New Hope in full HD with DTS master sound cranked up high..... Wow! it will be awsome, and thats the film that has the weekest soundtrack so imagine what the others will be like.

So to recap, Enjoy them, they wont change (may get small additions though).

You saw them during the original release! OMG, let's get you a medal! So did I and perhaps 90% of this forum. However, calling you 'kiddo' might have been out of line, but that is my reaction to anyone who calls the Godfather 'a so called classic.' If you can't make it through the Godfather then I suggest you look into some meds for your A.D.D.

The only Godfather film you should be falling asleep in is Godfather Part 3. I can understand some falling asleep to that one.

Somebody appears to have a superiority complex

Calling people idiots for having a difference in opinion? Really childish! What was the point of saying that? Just to say that people should like what you like and if not, they are in some way incompetent?

No A.D.D. here, just can't stand the films. It's great if you like them, but they're not everyone's taste.

There's nothing wrong with the Godfather Part III other than the fact that it followed two of the greatest films of all time. That's all...

I think the ADD comment was a bit much too! I don't even share your opinions, but liking a movie should say little of one's intelligence. After all, these are just movies.

Personally, I think Red Letter's reviews of the Prequels are for nothing. There was absolutely nothing new to his reviews that haven't been discussed on numerous forums over the past decade and some change ever since the release of Episode I...and a lot of those criticisms were subjective opinions about what people wanted with the Prequels instead of what they actually got with the Prequels.

He's entitled to his opinions but I think he missed a lot of points on his reviews and other times, he's being a complete idiot in his view points on the Prequels. .

Jay,

Separate Part III from the other two and just watch it as a film on it's own...the film completely and utterly works. It's just not Part I or Part II. But, after those two, it was a no win situation for Coppola and cast. That's how great those first two films are.

But, Part III is almost the perfect ending to the series.

Asking if someone has A.D.D. is not questioning one's intelligence. Lots of people have it, and plenty are intelligent. Beast is a smart guy, I never said he was in need of a helmet and nor does he run around yelling "Baby Ruth!"

No, but it was obviously condescending. And I was also referring to watzcoc's comment and a few other times people have called people idiots for not liking the prequels or originals, as well as suggesting that if they did not like such films, they "obviously didn't pay attention."

So Beast loves The Phantom Menace, hates Darth Maul, loves Jar Jar Binks, does not like Empire Strikes Back, and Godfathers 1 and 2 put him to sleep.

I think it's safe to assume that Beast and I will never find anything to agree on it. lol

Maybe it's time we all stop trying to convince each other that our respective positions and opinions are superior or "correct." A lot of the junk I see in here has to do with calling oneself a "true fan" and belitting others who don't share the same opinion of the PT, the OT, or the SEOT. So much condescending nastiness in here (I've been guilty of it too), and some are clearly more condescending and nastier than others, but in the end it makes us all look bad. lol
