The scene I was talking about, the director was saying that to the Ewoks, about throwing the rocks at the Storm Troopers. It was the "little people".
I think it's on the bonus disc of the OT DVD set.

Who are you to say the stormtroopers are bad guys? I always watched these movies thinking the rebels were the bad guys. I mean they blew up the Death Star! Twice! So many dudes died.

The Death Star was being used to destroy entire planets, a lot more people died every time it was fired at a planet than every time one of the Death Stars was destroyed.

What about all the indepedent contractors on the second Death Star? They just wanted to make a buck or two and then a bunch of fn teenagers come along being all sortsa 'Rage Against the Machine' and blow the place sky high.

Yeah, I watched Clerks one time too many when in college...

On the commentary of E2, Lucas said he made the Geonosians the contractors for this very reason. They're "Bad Guys".

Dude you have got to stop taking me so seriously. I am not demented enough to actually think that Darth Vader and the Emperer were the good guys.

It's the Internets, I don't take most of the stuff on it seriously, people who do need to get out more. Same for SW, I realize all 6 films, except V really, have flaws and I love them anyway, can't wait to get them in HD.

LOL, I could never be sorry to hear something called a "Death Star" being blown up. Besides... That Tarkin was an ass. Would have been cool to see Vader kill him though... Yeah, that would have been awesome. "I don't take orders from maggots like you. I am a Dark Lord of the Sith."

Yeah, I did find it pretty funny that George Lucas actually referenced Clerks in the commentary! That was awesome!

(Even if he did mix up the characters who were having the conversation).

Not sure I ever watched that commentary or the one for ROTS. Are either any good? I enjoyed the commentary and the extras for TPM, but didn't find the extras on the other two worthwhile.

That is awesome, that definitely cracks me up, especially since Dooku was so adamant in his belief that the Geonosians are not evil.

I know, and with the empire out of business, think of all those poor stormtroopers who were out of a job.

I just had a thought: I'm finally going to buy the "Clone Wars" seasons on Blu (mainly because I want to know what's going on in the upcoming Lego Star Wars III game) and I see the past two releases have come in October or November which is a bit close to this release.

Do you think they would hold the Season 3 release even further? If they're releasing the movies in September they obviously plan on pushing them through the Holidays (duh). The whole reason I'm behind on "Clone Wars" anyway is because the past two releases have come out on Blu after the next season aired. If I could watch Season 3 on Blu before Season 4 aired I'd be set but they're perpetually behind. I briefly considered that they may try to change that this time around but moving the Blu release of Season 3 to an earlier date would conflict with the movie Blu-ray release even more. On the other hand they may actually want to ride the coattails of the saga release.

I don't know if there are any rumors or anything. The movies are Fox and the series is WHV but LucasFilm actually calls the shots so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

From Wiki.

Quote:
The first Death Star is depicted in various sources of having a crew of 265,675, as well as 52,276 gunners, 607,360 troops, 30,984 stormtroopers, 42,782 ship support staff, and 180,216 pilots and support crew. Its hangars contain assault shuttles, blastboats, Strike cruisers, land vehicles, support ships, and 7,293 TIE fighters. It is also protected by 10,000 turbolaser batteries, 2,600 ion cannons, and at least 768 tractor beam projectors. Various sources state the first Death Star has a diameter approximately 140 kilometers. There is a broader range of figures for the second Death Star's diameter, ranging from 160 to 900 kilometers.
Thats a staff of 1,179,292. Can you imagine the infostructure for that thing? Feeding over a million people a day? The plumbing involved, it must be shooting out frozen blue pieces of crap at an alarming rate. It didn't even need turbolasers it could have shot down the rebels with crap. "Watch your six Red 5 there's some frozen crap coming at you...."

You'd think when the Rebels attacked they'd send out more than a dozen Tie-Fighters....

I bet there were less people on Alderaan.

I'd imagine they'd stick to their usual schedule, as these will have two separate audiences as well as the crossover buyers who'll want both.

So, so true. It's that sort of blatant movie logic which people are happy to tolerate - perhaps even celebrate - in the OT. I still say that the pilot's helmet with the blast shield that COMPLETELY BLINDS THE USER is the most blatantly useless there-to-serve-the-plot prop in the entire saga. But do something in a similar vein for the PT - like visible poison gas, oh noes! - and Lucas is the devil incarnate. Whatever.

As for Harrison's worst lines, I love the little speech he gives to Leia aboard the Falcon about being in it for the money. It's delivered in such a hurried manner and much of it is completely redundant. Lucas has a habit of doing that with the dialogue. I've always laughed at that line from Vader to Piett when he lets the stolen shuttle through in Jedi: "Leave them to me. I will deal with them myself". Riiiiiiiight. I suppose that "leave them to me" is a very difficult command to understand/interpret.
