Hardly. "LMAO." Just stating where my priorities are. I have uncompressed audio coming through 7.1 excellent speakers (budget allowing) and a 60 inch Sharp to watch movies in 1080p. That's all my home theater needs. Decoration isn't really in the budget right now, especially considering all the moving I plan on doing over the next 20 years. It just makes me chuckle to see your Star Wars obsession when they're nothing more than really good movies, and it makes me "LMAO" as you so childishly put it to see how hard you try to be a douche to others on this forum.

The dark side of the force has clouded your vision. To avoid posts getting deleted, I recommend we end this conversation. It's been fun, though.

Damn, 13?? Really?? A star wars movie? Well, ok.
Anyway the real issue with this box set, especially in the wake of Alien Anthology, is why anyone actively doesn't want the original cuts included, no matter what version you like better. Why would you want LESS stuff for your money. Don't be such a gimp!

I would love to have the originals, but it's not a deal breaker for me. I probably wouldn't watch them that often, it would be more of a novelty for me.
Bring out the gimp!

Has anyone noticed that in the original, Aunt Beru says "he has too much of his father in him", but in the SE, she says "he has too much of his... father in him". It's the same line, they just put in a slight pause and made "father" stand out more. It's subtle, but I think it works a little better.

A Star Wars movie showing a person writhing in pain with third degree burns over their entire body, extreme closeups of their horribly burned face, and multiple-angle shots of their amputations. A Star Wars movie that shows a man's face melting into a mess while he begs for help.

Yes, really. I can't push my parenting on others, and I'm certainly not going to judge, but if you let your kids watch that at such a young age, you may want to consider just how that's going to work on their little minds. There's a lot of stuff I'll let my kids watch, but those two scenes are going to have to wait.

And regarding not wanting the original unaltered versions included or simply not buying the box sets, I don't think that would even stop Beast from buying them. Who said they wouldn't buy the box sets if the original unaltered OTs were included? That's absurd logic. That's like not buying a movie if it has extras.

It's kind of funny you should say that 'cause he actually admitted to being one a few pages back.

At least he's not delusional.

"Because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn."

-Alfred, The Dark Knight

Words of wisdom.

I'm not talking about anyone refusing to buy it, I'm talking about the people who have said "I hope they aren't included, I want the people who want them to not get them. Because I'm just THAT invested in this make-believe world."

Well my friend, I don't recommend investing another second in trying to understand their logic. See my above quote from Alfred.

I've seen plenty of people on the internets claim they won't be spending any more money on Star Wars until Lucas treats the theatricals the way they should be treated and offered alongside the SE's.

Well, I'll just leave it at this: a lot of explanations have been put forth as to why the blu standards set by Alien, Apocalypse Now, Blade Runner, T2, or 70 hours of Star Trek television somehow don't apply to oh-so Special Star Wars. And none of them are good enough.

Because unfortunately, with each passing day, more and more people like Beast and Starkiller keep drinking Lucas' kool-aid. And considering the way Starkiller and Jerseyal act, I honestly don't want to know what it's laced with.

It's delicious! And it also makes you feel kinda funny. It turns all the backgrounds green and blue!

I'm sure that the UOT will be on BD at some point. I imagine it will come with bonus features that aren't going to be in the saga release; and, it will come with a limited edition zucchini taken from the mold of kamphausd1's with instructions on how to insert it into your rectum, so handful of people who bought the set can experience the movies the way he does.

No. It's called respecting the rights of the creator and the artist in this case.

I'm all about the artist having the rights to do with his work what he wants to.

So yeah, if Lucas doesn't want to put the time and money into restoring the old cuts and releasing them, I'm going to support that choice. Much like I'm going to support any creator in that area. The newest versions are far superior to the old cuts anyway, so no big loss on that.

Not to mention as has been noted numerous times, the original cuts can't be seemlessly branched, so they require a completely seperate BLU for each one. So that ups the disc count and the price of the set. Even more if peope want the '97 SE cuts of the films as well.

If people want to watch those versions, they're available. Lucas hasn't sent Stormtroopers to destroy those LD, VHS, and DVD copies.
