'Rheumatoid Arthritis' and 'cataracts' will have that effect on you.

"George Lucas this. George Lucas that. His vision. He's the creator, how dare you criticize him." Who's more foolish, the fool or the fool that follows it.

If George Lucas is a fool, then hopefully I can be just as foolish. You know how much money that "fool" makes, right?

The only individual from Hollywood to actually take part in that group. Says a lot.

I'm getting ready to finally move out of this apartment and into a cabin. I should then be able to blast Star Wars on my set-up as much as I want.

I'm so jealous of him.

The only thing I didn't quite like about it is I would have liked Ben to survive somehow (a great character that added so much depth to the story) and that Luke doesn't do much Jedi stuff aside from using the Force to blow up the Death Star.

One that that I don't really like is how overpowered the characters from the PT are compared to those from the OT. No way in hell Ewan McGregor 20 years later would fight or die like he did in ANH. He would have torn Vader a new one and single handedly brought down the Death Star with just his lightsaber.
Those are both two issues I have as well. I love Ben, and prefer the "under-powered" Jedi in the OT. Although, the prequel is a little bit more "modern action flick", I just like the medieval-style battles in the OT. The fencing stuff in the PT is cool, but not as "heavy". but we've all discussed that on the thread before.

That made me lol - moving from an apartment and into a cabin seems like a little downgrade, no?

Well, it's more like a small house. It's not made of log or anything. I also have to have my water delivered as I only have a 1000 gallon tank... But I prefer that to sharing my walls with other people. I live in Alaska, so a lot of people live in "cabins" (some of them even have no water; imagine having to go to #2 in an outhouse at 60 below!) haha.

I'll probably try to at least get through 2 a day. A New Hope will be the toughest to sit through in one sitting.
Seeing the PT again will no doubt rekindle my desire to crush Jar Jar's larynx with my boot.

That actually sounds kind of cool. In agreement about the outhouse. I'm in Ontario, but I won't be naive and say I know how cold a winter can be in Alaska. But I do know cold winters and have friends that visit the Yukon during the summer frequently. They say it's rather nice up there at that time of year, but otherwise frightfully cold.

But your living situation does sound awesome! Is it far from a city?
(I'm well aware this is off topic, so just PM or post on my profile if you want to continue this chat !)

Yeah um, how exactly does Greedo shooting first fit into that equation? Are we seriously supposed to believe that the budget was so compromising that he couldn't afford to do that originally?

I swear to God Beast, no matter how many logical points are presented about the importance of preserving films the way they originally were, the fans and customers being entitled to the right of having the option, the fact that these constant revisions have gone far, far beyond actually completing whatever Lucas' so called "vision" might be, and so on, absolutely nothing ever seems to be able to get through to you. But, like I already said yesterday, I honestly don't want to know what the kool-aid is spiked with.

I'm still trying to figure out how I'll watch these for the first time on blu-ray. 4-6 first, maybe 1-3 first. Tough call.

I think I'll do OT-PT then PT-OT, just to see which way I like it better in HD. Hoping these sell so well that Lucas makes 7-9, sick of the saga or not.

If he does do 7-9 my vote is for him to do the Thrawn trilogy...although I'll probably see pigs fly before that happens.

No, visually they're annoying and show things that look completely out of place. Storywise they add pointless scenes, disrupt the pace and water down characters. So, no they aren't improved.

Yup! And, if all of the other much needed visual improvements are made, they'll be that much better. Can't wait!

Heh, Coca Cola learned "New Coke" sucked because it didn't sell well. If people really want to send a message to GL and LF, and feel that strongly about the changes, vote with your wallets. It's the only way your "voice" will be heard. IMO, there aren't enough who feel this way to make a spec of a difference in sales, but it never hurts to give it a shot.
