I have to wonder why he didn't CGI a scene with 3PO stepping in some doody also for continuity. Maybe he will either remove or restore some of those scenes back into the upcoming BD set since he grown up now.

We can only hope.
Yeah, that little addition is one of my minor complaints as well. So pointless and distracting.

One change that I would like to see him do for 'A New Hope', is remove those two CGI aliens that he added for the SE addition in the cantina scene, and replace them with ones that have already appeared previously in another Tatooine scene such as a Gran and maybe even a Gamorrean guard that was off duty from Jabba's palace.

Now would that not be cool plus keep continuity for that particular scene?

Thank god they are fixing TPMs grading. Hope they get rid of the EE too. Its the only one that has excessive EE. It was one of the complaints about the DVD among videophiles. The pink color tone I'm not sure what happened there because the print in theaters didn't have it. I'm guessing that because TPM was the first film they put on DVD so I'm sure they were still familiarizing themsleves with DVDs capability. Big thumbsup to Lucasfilm for going back and fixing it.

Yea, and it helps match 'A New Hope's' scenes too with the colors being closer together since they take place in the same local, plus this makes it much more likely that the color in the OT's will get fixed also which had me worried quite a bit.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that they fix the colors of the 2004 ot dvds for the blu-ray release as well. That was another complaint about the DVD among videophiles back in 2004.

I love Star Wars. I don't like to over analize it. It seems like there's a lot of ubernerds on here with all the answers. Is a light saber heavy?

Not sure about what I think of the new look... would have been better to brighten the image but try to retain as much contrast and detail as possible. Like others said, it looks a little washed out to me.

It's simple. Buy the Complete Saga! I'm excited. And if one day the original theatrical releases come out, I'll buy them too! Would be nostalgic to see ANH open without Episode IV in the opening crawl.

With the later releases and additions, there are parts where I appreciate what Lucas is doing to add in what he couldn't do in the past with limited technology and/or funds. However, the Jabba's Palace song in ROTJ can go away for sure! I would thank the Maker if that scene would get cut out for good!!! Couldn't get a hot Twi'lek to sing instead? Don't need a female Rodian backup singer!!!

Anyways, I've been excited about the release ever since The Main Event at Celebration V with Lucas and Jon Stewart. Feels so long ago! Must take a few days off once this release comes, and do a sweet marathon!

You guys think that 3D technology (TV's, BD's) will be much cheaper by the time the 3D TPM BD hits shelves? I'm not so sure about investing in 3D since the titles and TV's are more expensive and I've heard it called a passing phase and a marketing gimmick.

This is interesting... here's a link to the official site's soundboard for Qui-Gon (I'm playing with it). It seems there are some bits of dialogue that I don't remember hearing in TPM.

They are on the bottom right.

It's good to hear u are watching it, I enjoy these because they are something new to watch. Don't get me wrong, I love the saga, but sometimes I'd like to see new info about the Star Wars Universe, I mean u have books, but something like the Clone Wars, in my opinion, is awesome!! Plus, I love seeing all of my younger cousins being Star Wars fans and you know that Star Wars will never die!!!

If you buy a top or middle line TV, chances are it's going to be 3D-ready, although it won't necessarily come with glasses, especially the lower-priced models. All technology gets cheaper over time (BD players started out at over $1000 and now there are even some under $100), but fighting against that are a declining US $ against the Yen (down 31% since 2007) and the tragedy in Japan, which is going to limit production and raise costs aside from the fact that the capital costs to rebuild will also result in higher prices. So I think we'll still see some declines, but they'll be more moderate over the next 2-3 years. And the question is whether the 3D Blu-ray releases of Star Wars will happen after each has a theatrical release or whether they'll wait until at least three have been released to theatres, which means it won't happen before 2014.

As for 3D, there are 40 3D theatrical film releases scheduled for 2011 from the major studios and already 19 scheduled for 2012, but that's not to say that many wouldn't be canceled (at least the 3D versions) if the 2011 releases flopped in 3D. As usual, most of the releases are animated and comic book fare (which is actually a good thing as it demonstrates that no one is yet dumb enough to try and add 3D to a serious film).

Scheduled for release theatrically in 3D between April and August 2011 are:
Thor, Priest, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom, The Green Lantern, Cars 2, Transformers 3, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt 2, Captain America, The Smurfs, Conan the Barbarian, Fright Night, Spy Kids 4 and Final Destination 5.

For me personally, the issue isn't whether these films are in 3D; it's whether I want to see any of these even in 2D.

To be fair, though, TPM dvd has always had wonky grading so a change is likely. Those screencaps may not be what the final grading looks like, but it is an indication of what it could look like.

You get the idea.

I'll be happy if the stuff changed from the UOT's is presented as restored deleted or extended scenes. I think that would be okay and George Lucas could explain why they were changed or excised. The deleted scenes for the PT had something similar and they were interesting.

Update: my poetic point has been censored....
The problem with this is that there's stuff that was altered for the 2004 DVDs, that was already altered for the SEs, and will probably again be altered for the Blu-rays. That way you could end up with three different versions of Jabba's scene in Star Wars.
But at least we're really, really getting Lucas' vision this time.
