I actually did some research on this..took me years...I came up with this..

The Phantom Menace: What is the opposite of Menace? Hope. A new hope, not a menace anymore.

Attack of the Clones: What is the opposite or similarity to Attack? Strike. Empire strikes back. What happened after the attack? there was a strike.

Revenge of the Sith. What is the opposide of revenge? Revenge of the Jedi. Originally called. After the revenge the jedi returns..

see how the titles make sense?

The Phantom Menace was Darth Sidious in TPM. I agree..but if you look at the whole PT...you get the sense that the real menace was Anakin. So the title of the first movie goes beyond the first film. The same way A new Hope follows up till ROTJ.

but like many things in Star Wars I think it can be seen on different levels.
You could say it refers to Anakin or Darth Maul or even the shift in the force.

"A new Hope" doesn´t only have to refer to Luke. It can also be the plans being received by the rebels etc ...
Yeah, good and valid points, except perhaps for Darth Maul, who I don't think is important enough, and it once more proves that these movies are so much more complex than they appear to be.

There are of course more parralels between the films:

Ep. 1: Everything appears to be relatively fine, a menace is looming though.
Ep.IV: Empire has taken control, freedom is about to come.

Ep. II+V: Republic/Empire uses Clones/Stormtroppers, score a victory.
A difference: THe Republic strikes first, the Empire was a retaliation after the destruction of the first Death Star.

Ep.III+VI: Jedi are wiped out, Sith take control. In VI the Sith are wiped out and the Jedi are the leading faction once more.

Rather Anakin had turned to the dark side or stayed a jedi Palpatine's plan would have brought down the Republic. Anakin was never the real threat, he was just a pawn of Palpatine ... so looking at the PT as a whole the real menace was Palpatine.

We all knew Anakin would turn to the dark side Ryan.

Agreed. When Dooku and Anakin dueled the winner would become/remain his apprentice. As such, Anakin wasn't truly necessary, Palpatine just saw more potential in him than Dooku (since he created Anakin in the first place of course :P).

I dont think ANYONE would argue that point. My point was that Palpatines plan of controling the galaxy didn't depend on Anakin turning to the dark side. Plus Anakin wouldn't have been any kind of threat without Palpatine. To me that makes Palpatine the real threat ... not Anakin.

Because it's going to be too much or too little (DNR)?

Anyways, I forgot to say that I really, really, really, really want Jabba The Hutt in ROTJ replaced by the CGI Jabba, which is so much better.

Yoda in ESB and ROTJ is Ok, but I would appreciate CG enhancement, such as improved lip movement and subtle things like that.

That would be great! Generally they should leave the Yoda-puppet but improve it to some extend with CGI. A CGI Salacious Crumb would be great too!

Lucas had better not even dream of touching Jabba in Jedi. While he's at it he should completely remove the Jabba scene from A New Hope. The scene is unnecessary, and CGI Jabba looks beyond awful.

The CGI Jabba looks no worse than the giant puppet from RotJ. So there's no sense messing with either.

Amen. I'll take a well-crafted puppet any day of the week over a shoddy looking CGI render. I'm good with CGI characters if the time and care is taken to bring them fully to life (i.e. Gollum or Davey Jones), but nothing in the Star Wars special editions or prequels even came close to those creations.

bluyoda..the puppet in ROTJ is better...the only puppet that needs to be fixed is the YODA from TPM because he LOOKS NOTHING like YODA!

I agree that I don't want any changes done to Jabba in ROTJ (and I will also be really mad if they were to replace him with CGI), however...

I actually liked the way that the CGI Jabba looks in his brief appearance in TPM. They actually did a really great job with him in that movie in my opinion.

What gets me is that the 2004 ANH version of Jabba (which was a big improvement over the 1997 version) still doesn't quite look right to me yet is supposedly the same CGI 'model' as the one used in TPM.

For one thing, his coloring looks too dark (though that could be a side effect of the 'color correcting' done on the 2004 version that made everything look much darker, assuming they 'dropped him in' before adjusting the color), and at one or two points, the animation just looks 'cheap.' This is especially the case to me when Jabba laughs after Han says, "I'm right here Jabba. I've been waiting for you." And Jabba replies (as translated in the subtitles), "Have you now?" and then he laughs. When he laughs, his mouth just stretches out in a very unnatural, very bad CGI-sih manner.

Even if they either used the same model or built a new one based on the TPM look, I just get the feeling that the actual animation was done more cheaply or was rushed compared to the work that was done in TPM, since it was just an additional change to the existing movie for the latest home video release (and since the 'prepping' of the movies for DVD was pretty rushed in general, hence a lot of the technical errors).

I really hope that they do take a 3rd pass at him and improve him even further. While I do feel this scene is somewhat pointless since it's mostly redundant of the Greedo scene which preceeds it, it's a given that it will remain in the movie for this release, so if it has to be there, I'd at least rather Jabba look as good as he can.

They look fine, but they're not the achievements that Gollum or Jones were.

Meh, the muppet in TESB and RotJ needs to be replaced with a more aged version of the Ep3 CGI model. At the very least, some eyelids and movement instead of less obvious muppet bouncing when he walks, if not the whole enchilada.
